USAfag
Good brand all around.
Americunt here
There's already a beer thread.
That's my go-to beer. Also my first.
USA
i would pretty much drink this exclusively if it wasnt $4 a bottle
...
4 of the best beers I've had
1. Brewdog Tokyo
2. Chimay Dorée Goud
3. Chouffe Houblon
4. Ridgeway Imperial Porter (they don't make it anymore I think)
Finland. I don't really have a 'go to' beer. I usually go for the cheapest option in relation to alc. strength.
F A T T U G
Had a beer flavoured with ambergris today, really interesting, but in a good way. Smelled like the ocean and tasted like musk lollies- they have a really artificial floral taste, like fake rose or violet essence.
If I wanted to smack myself with a pine branch in the face, there is a free option innawoods instead of buying that. Jokes aside, ok beer but do not get the hype that it enjoys.
Pic related is my favourite, weighing currently if I want to try the older bottlings. Currently 2010 and 2011 vintages are available.
Oh county is Finland.
Brazil here
Clean your glass mate.
Loving this lately
belgian trappist (9%). it's heaven
Rochefort 10. Haven't gotten a hold of Westvleteren XII yet, but I've heard it's not that much different.
Any good Trappist/abbey style Belgian is GOAT.
Ahh yes Schlenkerla is good. Doppelbock is a little bit to sweet for me though.
Riedenburger Bräu is quite good too. They use different grain for flavors like old variations like Emmer-Korn. Makes the beer taste more like bread if I had to describe it.
Region is Germany. Bamberg actally where Schlenkerla comes from.
USA here. Barley wines are my favorite style, but for tonight I went with these babies.
USA. It's hard to do a favorite beer, but this left me with the biggest impression of "damn, I need to buy more of this"
inb4 yuropoors get upset at the fact burgers easily have the best beer market/selection
why should i be mad? i'm really proud that you guys enjoy our beer.
i live 20min away from aying.
if you can get this beer in america, you should try it. it's from a small brewery north of munich and has become my favourite beer.
For a pilsner it is actually not all that PC at all, quite hoppy but i like it!
I miss it. They didn't do a seasonal release of it this year.
I need to finally try out the Belgian memes. I always see them and then put them back and just grab local craft.
Speaking of, I've been venturing into porters/stouts/other styles than IPA/APA this cold season. I had a Russian imperial that was pretty good this week, also had a decent ESB
The Belgian ones really aren't much different from any of your local guys that happen to make Belgian style beers
If you've liked some of those try some belgian ones, if you haven't its probably not worth it
Not a big fan of sour beer but this one works for me, really well even with the low abv. Very good!
La chouffe and Kwak are worth trying, I don't really care about trappist shit but if you haven't ever had one I'd go with chimay or orval. Widely available and won't break the bank. Same with westmalle.
I also really like gulden draak
Big beer for the night! Boy is it big at that, roasty and thick bodied.
Very special taste for a non adjunct imperial stout, impressed with what they do with it!
Nova Scotia, always need my dose of vitamin O
Google image pulled just for the thread, not mine.
I drink it from the bottle like the huge pleb I am.
I have been spoiled by other ipas of late i think. Not bad at all, just lacks the last pieces of the puzzle to an great beer.
Pretty good, nice and wheaty, full flavored. Interesting that there are even little pieces of stuff floating around in it.
Oh no I blew a portion of my paycheck at work. They saved me Dinosmores, Abraxas, and Double Daisy Cutter. I'm so spoiled.
Working at a liquor store while in college is the best.
I'm so fuggin spoilt
Pretty sure all their stuff is unfiltered and/or unpasteurized so that will happen in some cans and bottles.
That bottle looks dusty
2015 dinosmores. I'm having it first to compare to 2016.
10/10 dessert beer.
And yes, this is exactly what it looks like. I smile to myself every time I see it on the shelf. This is the completed connect a dot puzzle on every bottle. Great beer too.
ugh oh no fuggg omg
Clown Shoes is hands down consistently my favorite beer no matter what style they put out. Only drawback is their 22oz ranges in price from $10-17. Tends to be high alcohol content for most, but the flavor is worth it.
...
~$5 for a 500ml bottle, but it's well worth it for a quality Bitter.
But when I just want a cheap lager, I'll go for Narragansett.
Fug getting paid when I could just have beer. I've "paid" my rent by giving my land lord my employee discount at work before.
I've a dark lord and a 120 minute dogfish head and all the barrel aged firestone walkers hanging around. I'll be getting first dibs on the goose island releases soon as well. They're on their way.
If you can work at a good liquor store on the weekends or whatever. It pays off in great beer.
For me, it's pic related.
>perfect gold
>more head than in a porno
>smells like happiness
>crisp flavor with a slight metallic finish
USA btw
Hell yeah. They're so gimmicky, but make quality stuff. Their billionaire barley wine was great
That metallic taste actually comes from the can. Try a bottle, I swear I'm not shitting you.
You're the least fanciest person I know, and I hope bad things happen to you.
For me, its pic related. The most delicious and best alcoholic beverage. It has actual head, and not just foamwater. The only time it has a metallic taste is if you're playing a game of quarters with it.
You should be ashamed of yourself, person I am replying to.
USA btw.
Its my life goal to try every variation of Guinness Stout in the world.
lol, do they actually sell Natty in bottles?
Also, thats a myth, cheap beer just takes metallic, modern aluminum cans impart no flavor to beer
but American stouts are so much better
How many people's lives have been ruined by this shit? And don't get me started on people who drink a case of Nasty Ass on the weekends.
I'm always entertained by the bottles. They're fun to collect.
does anyone besides college kids drink it?
I used to have the same goal, but with Monster energy drinks.
I hope your endeavor goes better than mine did.
t. Diabetic and heart failure
>get home
>pour myself a beer and settle down to shitpost
>see this thread

Stop being a troll and have a real conversation about beer. Have you had every single stout made in US and Europe (and elsewhere)? Do you have a palate for beer and the vocabulary to express notes on flavors, mouthfeel, and aroma. Or did you just drink a good American stout and decide it's just the fuckin' lily of beers.
Do you seriously think I have never tried Guinness?
Calm down man, my point was why try minor variations of a mediocre beer a bunch of different times when you likely have a whole bunch of better stuff made by all sorts of different people readily available?
any beer by Barley Brown's Brewing: pallet jack, hand truck, speed wobble. lots of oregon pale ales. belgium makes some good stuff too. im from Oregon, USA
It's a really watery stout. Very poor body and watered down flavor.
I don't know what you're getting at. Everyone knows this.
>whole bunch of better stuff made by all sorts of different people readily available
That's real descriptive baby cakes.
Guinness is made in Nigeria, Germay, Jamaica, and of course Ireland. Not sure if it's still made in Canada or not.
>It's a really watery stout. Very poor body and watered down flavor.
Guinness is pretty thick and has several layers of flavor, are you sure you've had one before?
Yeah Draught is pretty water but it's 4.2% compared to 6% for extra stout.
as far as Guinness stouts go I have tried their draught in America and Ireland, also the extra stout and foreign extra stout, as wdll as the west indies porter.
The regular old Guinness draught is watery as shit, its the Bud Light of Stout. Some of the other ones are good, but none are special, if you are looking for top tier stout, Guinness isn't really the way to go. If you are looking for decent cheap beer its an ok choice
>but none are special
they've been in business for over 250 years, I'd say that qualifies as special.
>cheap
Where? Extra Stout is 10 bucks a six-pack here. A 4-pack of Draught is almost that much. (Pro-tip: add vanilla ice cream and crushed up oreos)
>they've been in business for over 250 years, I'd say that qualifies as special
yeah, and McDonald's makes the best cheeseburgers right?
I don't know man, I love stouts, but I find American style ones much better than dry Irish style ones (but I like both)
It doesn't take skill to throw some fucking hamburger meat on a grill and slap in on some bun with some vegetables. Why are you even comparing these two things?
>American style ones
How about suggesting some instead of just shitting up the thread with your opinion.
Don't know the FIRST thing about beers-- just drink whatever the fuck my friends are drinking... but is there a beer that
1. does not make me feel bloated as fuck
2. isnt a bitter as fuck "manly" IPA type shit
3. does not taste like pisswater (ie corona, heineken, etc.)
Basically is there a middle of the road beer that's easy to enjoy without having to develop too much of a "taste" for that isn't some supermarket brand??
Is this the best "normal" beer?
>How about suggesting some instead of just shitting up the thread with your opinion.
Well Founders Breakfast Stout is a great place to start, its probably the one that got me to start loving stout, most good beer is pretty regional so it depends on where you live
most amber/red ales and lagers would fill that category. Its pretty likely the the flagship beer form your biggest local breweries is in that category
You've left yourself quite a wide array of beers.
Pale Ales, Lagers, Pilsners and lots of variations are light, quality really depends on who is making them. I don't know about outside USA but in America these days there are plenty of options to pick from.
fat tire is my least favorite beer even with piss lagers in consideration
God-tier beverage coming through.
Practically all I drank when I was unemployed.
Half way through doing the fun connect the dots I realized his hand was a dick. It's on purpose, right?
Solid choice OP.
I live in Munich, here it's all about pic related. And I agree Augustiner is the best one, but there is like 6 or more other brands which are excellent.
>i live 20min away from aying.
you lucky motherfucker
USA here, this is my favorite
That doesn't qualify for anything. Pabst has been around since the mid 1800s, and nothing about it is special.
Guinness makes good, at best, stouts. Nothing great and all are pretty entry level, except for draught. That's just shit.
Most pleb California beer
You're thinking of ballast point
Actually, I live in NC. the brewery is like ten mins away from me
I've had Westy 12 (actually have four bottles on hand right now) and while i think it's better than Rochefort 10, it's not a huge difference, definitely not worth the price/pain in the ass of getting it normally. I lucked out and got 6 for 40 bucks at a tiny little local liquor store.
>tfw Rain Check is gone forever
Alright porter!
thoughts?
Danefag here
You're looking for Molson. Canadian lager.
Molson Ice and Molson XXX are pretty decent.
You can even get XXX in pint cans.
I'm a big bitch and don't like the taste of beer.
Are there any alternatives to Mike's Hard? It'd the only stuff I drink with friends.
...
...
...
smirnoff ice
Stone IPA is my go-to beer. I enjoy a variety of styles and brands but if I'm feeling indecisive you can't go wrong with the beer. Stone has somewhat of a reputation of making ultra-bitter "hop smoothies" but their original IPA is well balanced and very good.
Originally from San Diego, now live in Atlanta though.
>the goose island releases soon
>paying over 20 a bottle for anheuserbusch products
shit dude, I thought sophie and mathilda were a bit pricey
>That metallic taste actually comes from the can. Try a bottle, I swear I'm not shitting you.
you are however a retarded person
you're a subhuman
hells no, it's the only thing new belgium makes that is consistently bad
only if you can get a good one though, I've bought so many oxidized bottles over the years
how old are you that you think that stone is known for anything unusual and that any of thier beers are a goto. what's your 2nd and 3rd, fucking dead guy and sierra nevada pale?
...
It's just so damn perfect. And it's available just about everywhere.
But I favor just about any quality Czech or German lager.
USA.
My favorite
Pennsylvania
USA
calm down homie, all I was saying is that stone is probably most representative of the west-coast breweries that get shit on for only making 100+ IBU imperial ipas. Stone IPA is one of the best of the style, check your tastebuds
>Stone IPA is one of the best of the style,
eh, its ok. Would be below average compared to most midwest and northeast IPAs
>Stone IPA is one of the best of the style
maybe in like 1999, definitely not at in this decade
