/hsg/ Hot Sauce General

What is your guys' favorite hot sauces? Yucateco XXXtra hot is my go-to right now.

Side note, I went to a mexican restaurant the other night that had the typical sauces on the table, I asked if they had anything hotter and the waiter brought me a cup of sauce from the back that all the mexican cooks make for themselves, it was amazing. Tasted like habeneros, cilantro, and lime juice in an amazing combo

This is my go-to hot sauce when I just want a drop or two on something

I really like the Caribbean sauce on hot dogs, and the red sauce goes great on pasta and sandwiches, never tried the black one and not a huge fan of the xxxtra hot one. What is the green one good on?

Cholula but that's just because I'm a faggot who can't handle too much heat.

Im going to be making capcasium extra soon. Got to wait until my pepper plants finish growing .

El Yucateco is fucking amazing. Its absolutely the one sauce everyone should have.

For me, it's sriracha. The best hot sauce on the planet.

It's not about heat with every sauce, mang.

Flavor > heat

Right here fags

What's the best sauce if I want to build tolerance?
I've been using small amounts of Tabasco and Sriracha because It's the only stuff I have.

Wrap it up boys, this thread is over

This is simply the most eric win hot sauce around

The most flavorful hot sauce I've ever had but also probably one of the weakest

Thats a good start. Try sweet habanero sauces next

One and only sauce i use

I. Rely on real honest to goodness salsas, sauces usually lack the goodness to satisfy

I have been selling hot sauce for the last 4 years. El Yucateco is a great brand...all six varieties. Marie Sharpe and Melindas are also amazing...and not necessarily super spicy. Another lesser known but delicious brand is Trinidad. My experience...both as a dealer and consumer...avoid any sauce with a funny name or novel packaging. In almost every case...the product is eithet terrible or identical to a less expensive alternative. You pay for the bottle not the content.

How does it go in the selling biz

I got some of that stuff to deal with myself.

Ill be dealing mostly with the gourmet crowd even if the brand im working with isnt much more than overpriced private lable for another company

Im not selling as a full time business. I sell hot sauce like a street-level drug dealer and move enough sauce to get mine free. The vast majority of brands on the market are identical to several brands because there are only but so many bottlers.

quads confirm

For me it is the Louisiana hot sauce

The wacky novelty packaging on hot sauce really irritates me honestly. I'd pay to NOT have a bottle on my shelf that says SATAN'S ASSSHOLE JUICE XXXX666HOT XTREME. Melinda's has really tasteful packaging in addition to just being delicious.

Anyone tried pic related? I love the show but I'm a poorfag.

>For mexican food
Cholula, El Yucateco, a Habanero based sauce... or if I am a masochist Endorphin Rush
>for subs
Pryomania
>Chinese food
Huy Fong Chili Garlic sauce

why does the red cap sriracha taste so much better than the green cap one?

Melinda's is a great product line. I am very familiar with most of "her" sauces.
I hate the backstory...what the distributor did to their manufacturer is shady...but legal. I dont care...I stock both Melinda's and Marie Sharp's. Not my fight... both amazing sauces.

Melinda's and El Yucateco are now carried by Wal-Mart so in time we will see how that affects product quality.

Delicious. Has heat, but has lots of fucking flavor.

my favorites

Cholula fag here.

Any suggestions on brands that are a little bit spicier but the same kind of burn?

Tried el yucateco and it's just unpleasant how it numbs the tongue and destroys the palate.

>melinda's
ah thank you for refreshing my memory

i had one particular sauce from that brand that was the fucking best thing i'd ever tasted

but for some reason i kept thinking it was marie sharp's (also a good sauce though don't get me wrong)

as an aside (and i made a thread about this earlier that didn't take off)

FUCK YOU fags for telling me this shit is good

it literally tastes like a spicy ash tray

Just man up. Cholula is lolnoheat just flavored vinegar, and not even particularly potent vinegar at that.

Anyway try the red el yucateco maybe, it's very tomatoey and not hot at all, so a step up from cholula.

look into melinda's

they have some that are really hot but they're always marked

the regular habanero brand is not too hot but it's very flavorful

It's not about my manhood, I'm just not interested in a hot sauce that I can't eat with other food.

Damn good tastes there user

...

Pretty much everything is hotter than cholula, except like crystal. You increase your heat tolerance by eating hotter shit, aka man up and do it faggot. It only burns out your tongue cause you've apparently got a gaping hole between your legs.

My baby. I use this stuff in soups, stews, anything in a crock pot. Also pasta sauces. Heat is super intense, flavor is pretty nice too, and sticks around. I try to add just enough to leave a little singe on the tongue. You ideally don't really notice the heat until after you've swallowed and you find a little sizzle in your mouth. This one bottle I got like, two summers ago and it's only half empty.

I don't see how that is a bad thing.

It's delicious on eggs.

I don't think being stocked by Wal-Mart inherently affects product quality, Tabasco is still one of my staple hot sauces desu.

Try eating foods designed to be very spicy on their own. Maybe like hot wings or spicy chips.

Eat some hot wings, start to cry, drink some alcohol to kill the heat and repeat.

Adding drops of hotsauce on regular food wont really build your tolerance very much because the heat will just ruin the food.

Absolutely fucking delicious

>drink some alcohol to kill the heat and repeat.

That's a bad idea, I went to eat some sichuan food once and had a drink with it and nearly ended up puking waiting for my train after I left

Well alcohol and fats are the best way to actually stop it from burning.

That's one of the reasons people drink beer with spicy food.

You could do it with milk instead but i can stomach much more beer than i can milk.

i can get the two on the left from the nearest city in a specialty shop but I have to order the Melindas from a specialist importer

Fats yeah but alcohol and capsaicin are both stomach irritants and both at once just fucks me up, even too much milk after spicy food will make me puke

For you i guess but i assume the vast majority of people dont have the same sensitivity issues.

i love to nibble on superhots while sipping beers

you don't see how tasting like an ash tray is a bad thing?

ok dude!

Inner Beauty is up there for me. I think the company went under but I still have a couple bottles in cold storage.

I really dig Pain. It's a perfect compromise between heat and flavor. Their Jamaican and garlic versions are pretty good, too.

Lads, I'm going to the local ramen place for their (supposedly ridiculously) spicy challenge tomorrow. I've been adding shit like Dave's inferno to meals for the past few days to get my tongue adapted. Anything else I should do to prepare? Vaseline around the brown starfish come next morning?

I just ordered a bunch of different types of Yucateco in a bundle online.

I'm hyped.

Put a roll of toilet paper in the freezer the night before.

Green is great with eggs.

Godspeed. Report back.

Drink a bottle of pepto before. Coats your stomach lining which buys you a little longer to get to the shitter.

This is consistently shitted on by Sean Evans and guests on hot ones.. literally everyone says it tastes like shit.

Pic related is one of my favorites. This brand in general does not disappoint.

Just got this one delivered today.
Put 6 drops in my spaghetti bolognese for dinner and my face was melting off my skull something hardcore... the burn lasted for a good 30 minutes too!
It's one of those that gets hotter and hotter over a period of 20 minutes.
Tastes pretty fucking nice considering it's over 800,000 scovilles... like a woody smokey flavour.
Definitely the hottest sauce I've tried so far... almost finished a bottle of Satan's Sweat which is about 400,000 scovilles and that is nowhere near as hot or nice tasting as Blair's Ultra Death Sauce.

chu know?

Cholula is the only reason I pick perkins over dennys

That scotch bonnet sauce is my shit
