It wasn't mushy at all, around 2 minutes after it started boiling I transferred the pasta into the sauce and cooked it until perfect

I've never tried this before but it came out delicious, the lower heat cooking the pasta in the sauce gives you a bigger window of time to cook the pasta without overcooking it
