Anyone here knows anything about nutrition?

Anyone here knows anything about nutrition?
>I'm really fat
>I have been cutting on my sugar and carbs a lot lately
>Also started going on long walks
Today I woke up and went for a walk on an empty stomach, came home two hours later and had a few apricots as breakfast and a can of coke as a reward
Since it was already lunchtime after I took a shower I skipped on it, I started getting really mad at everything then I felt starvation, I stuffed myself with everything I could get my hands on but the feeling wouldn't get away then I got a headache and now I feel really sick

MUH CARBS MUH SUGAR UHRR DURR
OMG I ATE 2 AND A HALF BOILED POTATOES LAST YEAR THATS WHY IM FAT, ITS NOT BECAUSE OF YEARS OF BURGERS, CHOCOLATE, PIZZA, DORITOS, KFC, DONUTS, FRENCH FRIES, ITS BECAUSE I ATE A HALF PACK OF BLUEBERRIES LAST FEBRUARY AND THEN A BANANA IN JUNE AND POSSIBLY A HALF BOWL OF RICE OH SHIT BETTER EAT NOTHING BUT FAT BECAUSE IM FAT THIS MAKES SENSE BECAUSE IM FAT, ITS WELL KNOWN THAT PEOPLE IN AFRICA AND ASIA ARE SLIM BECAUSE THEY EAT NOTHING BUT BUTTER AND EGGS, RICE ISNT EVEN SOLD

eat more protein and quit starving yourself

bingeing is very bad

Food is a drug, causes dopamine to be released. Its withdrawal. The starvation and anger is because you were hungry. You need more self control. Next time dont skip lunch, have a light snack and a large glass of water. Work on the anger management and the will power to not binge.

I wasn't starving myself, I just came home at 11 and i was missing a couple ingredients for what I wanted to make and just had breakfast so I figured I just make it for dinner and have a snack (yogurth) later on

well you used the terms "empty stomach" and "feeling starvation"

stop doing that shit.

keep a few boiled eggs in the fridge and some unsalted nuts for when you're feeling a bit peckish
yogurt is fine too as long as there's not too much sugar in it

you want food that fills you up without racking up calories

How can people pull of intimidate fasting then?
I took a couple of aspirins and now I'm ok albeit really full

Lol I used to be a 300+ pounds
Here's how you loose weight
>Do random exercises while idle and not doing anything including things like jumping jacks, I did this while waiting for dota 2 games
>Count your calories and stay in-between 1500 and 2000 so you don't starve yourself and you don't overeat either
>Don't drink any sugary drinks, I only drink diet and unsweetened iced tea now a days lol
>Develop bad eating disorders, practice vomiting your food up and chewing and spitting

don't fast

don't binge either

is it really that difficult?

there's a middle ground between eating everything in sight and not eating at all

>loose weight
*lose

Calorie counting and food disorders will drop pounds.

Whenever I rat a nice 'za or American burger it's chewing and spitting

...

gross

Your reward will be losing weight. If you continue to drink soda its going to impede that.

I can drink a can here and there it's only like 240 calories

>sigh

why are you even asking advice, then?

just stay fat

They're nutritionally void calories providing nothing beneficial.

Eat small meals throughout the day, cut your total calorie intake, seek foods with a wide variety of nutrients and strive for a balance of 25-35% protein, 60% carbs, and 15-20% fat.

Don't eat compulsively and just try to be more active throughout the ENTIRE day. If you're truly fat, 30 minutes of exercise and 23 hours of nothing isn't going to cut it. It's about life style changes, not tiny measures.

>Cutting sugar and carbs
>Meal of apricots and coke

You're hopeless.

if he is truly fat just going from 3000 calories a day to 2000 would make him stop dropping pounds

>muh carbs and sugar diet

Calories in less than calories burned. That's it.

Yea but I'm the real world that's not sustainable. That's too dramatic of a change for a body that's used to 3000-4000 calories of sugar and fats. He would likely be back to his old ways in a couple weeks.

yeah it took my 93 year old grandma calling me a fat ass and not to open the refrigerator before i decided to change the way I ate

You are not the real world.

That is not too dramatic of a change.

Weak faggots will always go back to their old ways regardless of what changes they try to make, no matter how big or small.

Go away.

The topic of the thread was something really wierd happened and i don't know why

lacking any self control clearly isn't a wierd thing for you

>coke as a reward

its not about rewards you fucking nuthead, you just change what you eat period. otherwise you wont last 2 weeks.

You people sure get anal about this don't you?

>knowing this little about how people behave

But I'm sure you're a big man. Go on and be a big strong man somewhere.

Nice defense fatass just brain yourself

First, don't buy coke unless it's diet. Don't buy beer.

Mostly, don't get discouraged. I get food rage hangry too, but you have to give yourself space to fuck up. Don't get upset if you get a little crazy, just get back to establishing good habits.

...

>>knowing this little about how people behave

You know who keeps falling back into their old ways? People who don't commit themselves. People who "cut back a little." People who delude themselves into believing that if "I can just make it another week I'll be golden."

People who actually change and stick with it longer than 6 months do so because they don't allow themselves the comfort of staying where they are. The move, surround themselves with new people who act like they aspire to, they dive off the deep end and have thing or people that hold them accountable. They commit to the proverbial "burn the ships, there is no plan B"

But sure, I'm just an anonymous ass who makes you feel uncomfortable because reducing your calories by 500-100 is hard and all you need to do is cut 50-100 a day because that's what Self magazine says your favorite celebrity did.

but i never asked for help

Go blog somewhere else.

Tumblr is a big fan of whiners like you so you'll get all the asspats and validation you need

Day one and you reward yourself with a a can of coke after a walk that didn't burn as many calories as the coke had, plus some fruit just incase your blood sugar wasn't already spiking. Then being a fatty, you decided to starve yourself rather than eat healthy food, broke down and ate thousands of calories within hours.

Jesus...

I didn't whine either, did you read the op?
I wanted to know if someone could explain what happened

It's not day one

That might make it worse. Eat fucking broccoli. Carrots. Vegetables. Not covered in dressing, or cheese, just plain vegetables. You won't lose weight starving yourself. Eat low calorie foods. The apricots should be the treat after the walk, not your go to health food. Fruit has a lot of sugar and calories. Juice often has more calories than soda. Drink water or black coffee/tea. Eat whole grains and vegetables. You can't eat things just because they are "diet." Count every calorie you eat, and ignore the ones you burn. If you want to be full but still lose weight, you need to massively overhaul the food choices you are making.

Sounds like diabetes.

Day one is tomorrow:^)

OP, I know you think it's okay to have a can of soda, but it's not.

The effective way to drop this shit that actually teaches you self control is cold turkey.

Chemically, sugar is more addictive than heroin. Just having a bit here and there makes it harder to not have any.

I used to be obese, and I solved the issue by eating very little sugar (mind you, I mean processed sugar in candy and soda and shit, you can still have a piece of fruit or whatever), and it taught me self-control.

"it's only 240 calories" is dangerous because then it's only 300, then 350, and then you die of a heart attack.

Look at it this way: 240 calories is more than 10% of what you need to eat in a day, and you want to drink something that's gone so fucking quick, instead of eating something that lasts much longer. Have a water and a packet of candy instead, it'll last you longer and won't shit on your teeth as much. That said though, have water and a healthy snack instead.

You're lightheaded and irritable because you aren't getting the necessary vitamins and minerals. Look up what a person needs, and then eat enough. Spinach is a good source of multiple things you need, for example.

It's not anal.

You are going to fail. You're going to fail because you aren't committed. I know, because I've been there. "A bowl of ice cream as a reward."

It doesn't work. You don't reward yourself with sugar, you reward yourself with being happy with your body, and not wheezing when walking up 3 steps.

Stop being weak.

"I never asked for help, all I did was ask for help"

You're a fucking idiot.

Whenever I hear an ex fat person speak about being fat I can't help but thinking that they are trying to convince themselves that it was totally worth it and life is perfect now

Life's definitely not perfect, but I feel better and more energetic in general.

It's less trying to convince myself, and more just remembering how fucking awful I felt, and the stark contrast between now and then. Remembering that feeling makes me want to help other people not feel that way.

Are you fat, ex fat, or never fat? I'm just curious.

Stop projecting so much?
I wasn't even trying to lose weight i was trying to have a more healthy and active life. Ever since I replaced half my snacks with fruits, started cooking all my meals, dropped most of my soda intake and walking helped too I started feeling a lot more energy and that's what I actually want
Sure, maybe I will try to lose weight later on, maybe I wont who knows, right now I don't care about that

I'm fat but I'm not crazy and i try to keep bullshit to a low level

You just described losing weight.

Being 100 lbs vs being 200 lbs, obviously it's gonna take significantly less energy to do anything when you're lighter.

I wasn't calling you crazy.

Have you ever been not fat? If not, it might be hard to recognize such a difference being possible, but it is.

I described dropping most of my sugar and coffee intake, getting better rest and stop being so sedentary
I got tired of being so tired and angry all the time, I woke up and say today I will do x and then the day was almost over and i didn't manage to do shit
I have lots of energy now, it's wierd how exercise (walking is exercise) gives me more energy instead of making me tired and its wierd how a little fruit here and there means I don't get sleepy during the afternoon
Overall I have reclaimed most of my day and i no longer feel like a zombie

I have never been no fat, I nottice that everfat people like me are less likely to lose the weight but also don't mind as much
Like those people who pretend to go on diets or pretend to go to the gym or hide away to eat or cry over their weight and get mad when someone jokes about it, I have never done any of that
Truth be told it bothers my family a lot more than it bothers me then again the drunk and the pill popping cunt an drop dead at any point for all I care

This situation is a kind of "don't knock it until you try it" thing, because honestly, you can't even fathom how much better it feels not being fat.

It's truly staggering feeling the difference.

I get that you don't get exhausted while walking in the sun and can move better and do sports but other than that I don't have a big ego, I have a big everything else, I don't really care how other people see me
I have a question for you tho, do people tell you all the time how much better you are now that you no longer are fat and that now you can stop being so angry or sad or wathever because the only problem was your fat all along and you where too stupid to nottice?
That would piss me off

DUDE THAT'S IT FAT IS THE WAY TO GO RIGHT DOWN, SOMETIMES I SPREAD BUTTER ON MY THIGHS BEFORE WORKING OUT AND DRINK A GLASS OF RAW EGGS BECAUSE FUCK CARBS FUCK GRAINS FUCK EVERYTHING PLANT BASED! MCDONALD'S HAS A NEW FISH BURGER MIGHT CHECK THAT OUT LATER OR HAVE SOME CHICKEN SALAD FOR DINNER BECAUSE MEAT IS HEALTHY.

Stop being a retard. Work out your BMI work out your TDEE and go from there. It's all calories in calories out. Eat lean proteins and plenty of green veg and good carbs. Depending how big you actually are keep the cardio to walking only until you lose a decent amount (don't want to ruin your knees) Maybe start lifting weights too, you can't go wrong with beginner routines like 5x5 starting strength or greyskull. Above all stay active and busy and you wont be thinking about food. Go read the sticky on fit for fuck sake.

>you only improve yourself by throwing yourself headfirst into the deep end
Jesus Christ all the projection in this thread. You tell me how you improved yourself by committing 100% to completely reinventing your lifestyle, and tell you how you could've done better. Come on. I was a heavy alcoholic for 5 years, and I found it much easier to quit by allowing myself to get drunk once a week or so. It gave me relief and something to look forward to, such that I didn't really crave alcohol in between. I found myself drinking less and less frequently, and comfortably so. I haven't been drunk in about 20 months, and because of my attitude, I'm not afraid of drinking again if it ever comes up.

Let's be honest, OP does have a problem, but his problem isn't that he drank a fucking can of coke. There is nothing wrong with people apportioning their goals to their willpower and comfort level, instead of demanding they set themselves up to fail. Had I followed that advice, I would be drinking in the gutter right now, possibly dead, having "failed" enough times that I lost the will to even try. Yet here I am, nearly two years sober, healthier and happier than ever.

Do whatever feels right for you, OP. Is it ever OK to drink a can of soda? Not really, but you know that, and you have weighed up the decision in your head. Don't let anyone here tell you that it's not worth making any changes just because you gave yourself some room to breathe.

Nuts are full of calories.
It`s tasty and healthy, but damn - it`s a LOT of calories.

If you actually want to make it, follow my instructions.

To lose weight you need to consume less calories than your body burns, that's the first thing.

The reason people cut carbs (and fat) more than protein is that you need the essential amino acids for different body processes, while carbs are mostly only there for energy.

Don't cut too fast, or you'll get lose skin hanging around. Best track your intake with an app like myfitnesspal.

Don't eat sugary foods, they consist of simple carbs, which can be digested quickly by the body, give you a lot of energy but at the same time lead to strong food cravings shortly after. If you eat carbs, it's better to eat more starchy foods, they keep you full longer.

Other things to consider:
There is medicine that reduces your appetite ('Upper drug class' will reduce appetite as well). Drinking a lot of water also burns calories as the body has to handle it, while getting 0 calories put of the water.

Take everything with a grain of salt, I'm just another guy on the Internet.

the reason people eat more meat and veggies instead of carbs is because meat and veggies are mostly water and fiber while carbs and sugars are carbs and sugars im not a moron
i already have a bit of lose skin around my arm, kind of wierd when i found out but eh
i know how sugar works, i know alcohol works pretty much the same
funny enough i dont want any medicine in my system even tho i would put just about anything else in there
im not looking for a saivour, just trying to figure out life, belive it or not health isnt the only area im lacking in

>
>the reason people eat more meat and veggies instead of carbs is because meat and veggies are mostly water and fiber while carbs and sugars are carbs and sugars im not a moron
If you ate enough meat, but no fat or carbs the gluconeogenesis will turn protein to glucose (carbs/energy). So what I said about calories still counts.
Btw fiber consists mostly of carbs (but this type of carbs can't be processed by human enzymes), eg. cellulose (the -ose ending hints a sugar)

>im not looking for a saivour, just trying to figure out life, belive it or not health isnt the only area im lacking in
Fixing your health is a good starting point.

Sticky faggoy

Ya can, but if you're actually trying to lose, it really won't help things along. You should save it for a good reward, like when you have actually dropped a pound or two.

Anyway, you probably felt that way because your body is used to a certain amount of sugar now, and not eating before the walk probably left you low on blood sugar. Next time take a water and a banana with your, or an apple or something. Enjoy it while you walk.

What helped me a lot was learning to enjoy things again. I didn't do a walk -just- to walk. I got myself some headphones, put on good music, enjoyed a really good apple, and watched the scenery as I walked.

I didn't eat salads just because they were healthier, I started looking up salad recipes that tasted fucking delicious. Then after a while I moved on to finding better tasting drinks.

If you make the experiences enjoyable, you'll want to keep doing them and be less likely to just quit.

~7 calories a nut, meh how many can you have without going out of your way to glutton? 40? 40 × 7 =280 almost equal to a can of coke but so much more healthy.

This is a thread about losing weight and you came in here specifically to justify your fatness by trying to undermine someone who has gone through weight loss.

Get to fuck out of this thread. Your thinking is dangerous.

Who the fuck drinks coke for breakfast?

lot of faggots in this thread

Fat fuck

Dont eat fruits unless its citrus or bananas stop drinking soda and tea and water switch to stevia or sugars that dont affect your calories and blood sugar have the mindset of a diabetic fats are good sugar is bad also dont skip meals just keep your calories under 1200. Go on ketosis

how to lose weight in my experience
>don't drink soda more than maybe twice a week, preferable never
>get a job that requires you to be off your ass so you don't have any excuses to not exercise
>consume less calories than you burn in a day (my bodyweight required about 3000 to stay the same weight, so I ate about 2200 or so a day and went on walks, no severe diets or workout regimes, just being diligent)

Burgers, chocolate, pizza, doritos, donuts, fries...all that shit has considerable amounts of carbs. So you basically just made yourself look like a fool and I suspect that's not the first time that's happened in your life.

eat healthy
dont starve yourself

if u cheat then dont give in and keep doing it

dont drink soda
dont eat sweets
dont eat fast food
dont eat junk food

dont try to be a retard who restricts calories
you know what foods are healthy and what arent.

the healthy food is naturally low in calorie
you shouldnt count your calories its not the best way to approach it op

exercise whenever u feel like

dont think u have to have a rigorous routine

drink water

ya no caloric drinks

thats a biggy

u will lose weight with this common sense

not these fags

Find your TDEE, eat reasonable portions, and count your calories.

It's either that or stay fat.

Or just get a job being your feet all day and not eating like shit. Like a janitor or a groundskeeper.

Why did this pic get deleted?

One can a week. Maximum. And when you do, you have to run at least half of it off.

>I have lots of energy now, it's wierd how exercise (walking is exercise) gives me more energy instead of making me tired
Yeah it's freaking weird and it also means that when you feel like shit it's tough to get started, or when you stop to restart. But it's pretty great, esp. if you do heavier exercise and break a sweat and then you get this rush of energy.

Feels like shit to force myself to work out but then when it's done I always feel better. Keep it up senpai.

>then I felt starvation
no you didn't

I've eaten nothing but water for five and half days. I have more energy than I know what to do with. I've been learning Swedish on Duolingo and meticulously planning out my day tomorrow.

It's honestly really easy to lose weight. Just stop eating.

I'm also trying really hard to resist eating the golden syrup and butter popcorn icecream in the freezer.

But it's the FAT that makes you FAT.
>Believing in low carb diet hoax

Clearly doesn't understand ketosis and why keto diets work. Hey OP maybe you should try a keto diet
