What are some good MREs

Lithuanian ones are cheap and good. Can't go wrong with the French RCIR. Haven't had many modern American MREs tho

I'm sure FREs are great for actual soldiers n shit but something about dry alc and a little stove is just wonderful. Plus being able to at least have some level of control over the heat so I can cook food instead of just warming it up is nice.

Anyway my favorites are the eastern european MREs. They're usually really hearty and basic stuff. Ya get crackers, ya get some jam, ya get (usually) a meaty and starchy main.

If I had to live off of rations though, jap self defense force MREs are top tier. They have really high quality FREs that actually cook shit and can boil water if you've got just water in there, usually a really good serving of rice, and fruit flavored rock candy. Plus meat and whatever else. Usually crackers/biscuits.

Old ones

They used to be pretty bad, but they've changed up the menus and they are getting better. It's still good meant to last without refrigeration, and can be generally eaten cold.

I haven't been able to find a jalapeno and cheese spread pack in fucking years.

They vary from different countries, and if you're brave like Steve, eras.

Yeah, I've been told Lithuanian ones are good, that they come with like, canned stuffed peppers and even rumcake for desert, sounds fucking nice for army rations.

I tried a Pakistani military ration pack.
It consisted of a bag of rice and no toilet paper.

How is this guy not dead?

>chinese military
>eat dog food

no wonder they are so fucking primitive

As someone who spent 3 months building and living on an OP in the middle of the fucking desert, let me tell you this:

Veggie Omelette was (Discontinued) the best MRE. Why? Because nobody eat them. They were ALWAYS left in the box. Always rat fucked beyond recognition. But you take a couple of bottles of tabasco and put it on that gelatenous block, and you're in for a good meal.

Chili mac

Socialism is very debilitating, especially in strong doses.

I want to be his friend.

They eat dog food, they eat dogs, soon enough they'll be eating eachother like they used to.

You should see The Great Leap Forward

I've had a number of MREs as the son of a retired army sfc, but my favorite thing in em has to be jalapeno cheese spread on a cracker. I love that shit.

I thought I was the only person alive who didn't mind the vege omelette. Tabasco improves the taste of everything though.

My favorites were always chili mac and chili with beans beans. Pound cake and ranger bars are always good.

When I was in Iraq we'd trade rat packs with you Americans. The country captain chicken was pretty good.

The spicy penne pasta was always my favorite though you never got any good candy with it

not bad

I kind of like the look of the British ones. You can get those all-day-breakfast packs in the morning (beans, sausage, etc). Toothpaste tube full of nutella. Tea with every meal. Sometimes there's toffee pudding for dessert. Yum.

That's not how you eat that. You squeeze the cheese out onto your hands and then roll it around into the dust that those stupid fucking crackers inevitably turn into.

That being said, the crackers were nice to dip in the chili or the taco gel.

Chili Mac, beef stew, beef shredded, penne pasta, spaghetti are the decent US ones right now that I like at least

1SG tells us next year has a pizza MRE but I half fear it and half don't believe it

This
I'd manage to find some fuck that would trade his entree and I'd end up with chili Mac sides and penne entree
Life was good

....nice.

Theres something oddly satisfying or whatever when he says "Nice!"

>he will never compliment you like he does cigarettes and chiclets from a can from goddam WWII

...

found a new one that came floating by

ahahah shit my badz, didn't see that little pupper when i saved the image

Who were you with?

I got some Aussie crms in Afghanistan a few times. Those were almost always good. Chicken curry and beef tortellini were my favorite of those.

I love the little Tabasco bottle you get in those ones, I take them into the back country on camping trips for 3-4 days worth of food

Anyone here ever tried old C rations?

Yes. Far inferior to MRE's.

the one for the US Forces in Iraq is not what they used.
That is an Jimmy Dean meal set that was used in tradoc bases.

This. US MREs always come in the sealed brown bag.

I heard the spaghetti & meatballs in tomato sauce was supposed to be the best one.

This one doesn't.
:^)

Bong Army.
We don't get individual meals just 24 and 12 hour packs..

The toffee pudding isn't great, it's essentially a giant block of sugar, it sticks to your teeth like a bastard.
The breakfasts are pretty good but most of the desserts are universally detested.
A few years ago we had this fruit dumplings in butterscotch sauce abortion. Never saw anyone eat the fucker.

Whatever doesn't make you shit out all your organs. I've read too many stories on /k/.
This is the only pic I have with mention of food.

...

Why does he have a picture of Barıs Manço in his house?

Emmy is my momfu

>What are some good MREs
>suggests not MREs

It's pedantic as fuck but MREs are American rations specifically

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meal,_Ready-to-Eat

>liking the veg omelette

That's on par with vegetarian lasagna as worst MRE ever.

The new pizza MRE is real, and according to tase tests done by people in the military it's pretty good. There's a YouTube video on the new pizza MRE I think.

my grandpa said during the great war the rations were crackers, mystery meat, instant coffee, bar of chocolate, and 4 cigarettes

Could I live off MRES? Any downsides?

The insane number of calories you will be intaking unless you work out a shit ton

you will become constipated to the point you require medical intervention, and possibly surgery to remove the softball sized petrified feces stone that develops in your body

This
I wouldn't eat them two days in a row let alone living off them

Indian one looks awful, Brazils looks nice but the rice probs sucks

You will almost literally shit bricks
And unless you're engaging in strenuous physical activity from the time you wake up right until you fall asleep you will be killing yourself with calories

What if you only ate as much of it as you needed so that it's not crazy calories?

you'd feel like you're starving
