$2 for the grocery store bakery bread
$4-6 for the branded stuff or a nice loaf from a real bakery

cdn dollars so not real monies tho

>sudbury
>more than a nickel
Calling bullshit on that son

$1 in many cases. There are a couple acceptable store brands for that plus there's a bakery outlet. 3/$1 a lot of times for day old that's not even stale.

Local Bakery shop
>they buy their bread from grocery stores

$5 for 14 slices of sourdough
$7.50 for 28 slices of white
$5 for whole wheat
$5 for 12 slices of pain de campagne
$6 for 10 slices of rain bread
$6 for 12 slices of cinnamon bread

wonder bread is 2.50$ per loaf when on sale.

1$ for a shitty piece of shit store brand loaf

better value to just get fresh bread every time also a dollar

99 cents if it is a week from expiration date at JayC or 1.69 from Walmart. I live in rural Indiana.

problem with fresh bread vs shit white "bread" is fresh bread doesn't last for more than a 2-3 days before its shit so unless your feeding many people it's cheaper and more convenient to gow with the 1$ enriched bread substitute stuff

>they buy their bread from grocery stores
>his grocery store doesn't stock local goods

2$ at the grocery store downtown from the bakery a few blocks away.

>$7.50 for 28 slices of white

That's a lot for bread, user; bakery or not.

you know that this is a very silly question
there is so many types of bread
but I give you my answer from $0.99 to $9.99

why dont you just buy a fresh piece of bread every couple days???

its still incredibly cheap wtf.

buying the cheap shit is retarded when the fresh bread is 10x better tasting

>you know that this is a very silly question
only leaf can ask such a smart question

>fresh bread doesn't last for more than a 2-3 days
bread lasts months in the freezer.

Yeah but it's white. They sell it in half loaves, so $3.75 for 14 slices. People here (SF, USA) don't like white bread.

>People here (SF, USA) don't like white bread.

Is it not patrician enough for you guys? This is a serious question since I've never been to the west coast. I just read about the memes associated with it.

Like $12 or something like that.

yes food is expensive in my town

>People here (SF, USA) don't like white bread.
you have to hate yourself and be suicidal if you eat soft white bread

>People here (SF, USA) don't like white bread

...why? It's good.

Don't get me wrong, there are definitely better types of bread...but as far as simplicity and cost goes, white bread has everything going for it. And it doesn't taste half bad, either.

Is it just people being hipsters?

Or just be a poorfag that doesn't have 20 dollars to drop on bread crafted by an Amish hermit living alone on a mountainous peak because it's hip to eat it.

>Is it just people being hipsters?

No, it's just normal people not being flyover scum.

Aus dollarydoos are similar to sorry dollars right?

Store brand bread here is 75c and branded stuff is 2.80-$5

Sounds like you're getting ripped off eh

I don't know, but bread flour is less than a dollar a pound, so I can make a month's worth of bread for almost nothing.

It's just empty calories. We usually don't favor cheap food. The number of fast food joints in our 7 x 7 miles ^ 2 is very limited.

It's yummy with PB+J/Banana though.

No, just empty calories for the most part.

You don't understand. SF is mostly people who care about their health a lot. My roommates eat quinoa and kale daily. All of us (5 people) never buy anything with a chemical we don't know about. It either has to be full of natural ingredients or chemicals (we have 1 chemical engineer and 1 biologist) that have enough history to determine possible toxicity.

no you don't have to do that,
you can still get cheap whole wheat bread that is much healthier then the soft white shit,
or if person is poor they can bake their own bread assuming they are not lazy asses sitting on the couch watching TV and getting fat like pigs.

Why Isn't White Bread Good for You?
livestrong.com/article/343850-why-isnt-white-bread-good-for-you/

White bread -- the ubiquitous soft and fluffy slices still favored by many -- looks delicious but has little substance.
Most hamburger buns, French and Italian bread, Kaiser rolls, bagels and pizza crust are also white bread and none of them are good for you.
White bread is low in essential nutrients, and may have an adverse effect on your health.

Maybe $3 or so for any average bread, then there's some cheaper stuff, and some nicer stuff.

>It's just empty calories.
sugar or oil is empty calories. enriched white bread is not.

That's fucking insane, how many pounds/kilos of bread do you get for that? I could buy a huge stack of bread for that, I wouldn't have the time to eat it all before it went stale.

Around $.40, since I make it myself.

normal loaves are 45p-£1

Italycuck here: for the pic OP posted around 90 cent, but for a high quality bakery loaf it costs like 40~60 cent

Freeze it dumbfuck, and take out slices as needed.

Pic is £1 at my local super market, tastes pretty good too.

>engineers and scientists having to share housing cause of ridiculous cost of real estate in SF.
I just don't understand why people will want to live in that shithole.

Jobs and Whites.

I'd probably kill myself if I were a bong.

Aunt Millie's is 88¢
Wonder is $1.88
Bakery made is $2.99

You think we cannot make bread? You do not live next door to the frogs without learning a few things.

UK probably has the best bread around, theres even a bakery in my village of 500 people.

Kind of a silly question.

You can get the cheapest bread for less than a dollar.

Good local bakery bread for about a dollar for a huge loaf if it's on sale.

You could also pay $15 for some fancy bullshit bread if you want.

Houston, Texas.

You can get an enormous artisan german country sourdough that has to be cut in half and put into two bags for $2 on Wednesdays at a local bakery. Best bread deal ever

$1.59 (US) for a 6-pack of store brand English muffins

...

419kr Iceland Reykiavik for some cheapest bread.
That is: 3,68$

4.95$ for most loaves here. Not the mass produced white bread though, i have no idea what that costs.
I usually get 10 grain or caraway rye.

btw thats in "black lady picture plastic leaves" (canadian)

~$4.
