Venezuelan Christmas food

It's Christmas, so it's time to make Pan de Jamon. Let's start with 600g of bread flour, 1.5 tsp of salt, and 1 tbsp of active dry yeast.

Add around 400 to 450 ml of a warm 50/50 mix of water and buttermilk, and 1 or 2 tbsp of melted butter. Knead for about 10 minutes.

One hour later the dough has risen, so get the bacon, ham, raisins, and olives ready.

Roll the dough out nice and thin

Put down the bacon and half the olives and raisins

First layer of ham

More olives and raisins

More ham

Roll it up and let it rest an hour

Brush with egg wash and slash the top

Bake at 375F for 35 minutes, then increase to 415 until the crust looks nice

And the crumb shot

looks bretty good

Looks good man. Think I'll make this sometime.

Tbqh I've never had a bad one, so I'm not sure

You guys have olives? How? Serious question.

I bought them at the supermarket. I also live in the US so that helps.

Oh, I thought you were from Venezuela and cooking up something for Christmas. Thought it would be a basic meal working with what you had knowing the food shortage there and all.

Ya there's probably more traditional Venezuelan food outside Venezuela than in it at this point.
