This guy indirectly killed 300,000 people.

How is he still a tenured professor at Berkeley? What went wrong and why?

who?

the lawyer who ginned up a bullshit legal justification for torture for the Bush administration is still at Cal as well

getting rid of a tenured professor isn't easy

I imagine for the same reason berkeley lets themselves get cucked by liberal art majors who are only even there because of affirmative action

> implying doing something to reduce overpopulation is a bad thing

The world can hold many more people... It's just a matter of doing it right.

truer words I have yet to have heard

...

This. Who the fuck is he OP?

Fell for the overpopulation meme

he's an HIV --> AIDS denier whose work had horrible consequences in africa

Getting rid of a tenured law professor is astronomically difficult.

Especially that asshole, who in early 2002 consulted with Dick Cheney on the private Energy Commission report that supposedly laid the foundation for the invasion of Iraq.

t. SJW

you have to actually commit a crime to get your tenure stripped

just having bad opinions isn't enough.

Many people do not get caught after committing crimes.

It's been going on for many years user.

Peter Duesberg. He's a molecular and cell biology professor who denied that AIDS is a direct result of an untreated HIV infection. He believes that HIV is completely harmless. So he comes to a conclusion that drugs (LSD, MDMA, etc.) are the cause of AIDS.

Over 300,000 South Africans as a result.

>Fell for the overpopulation meme
What did this brainlet mean by this?

We reached peak population 30 years ago. That was the point where we started to deplete resources faster than they can be renewed, and this isn't even going into how quickly we're burning up nonrenewable resources.

Just because you could technically have people crawling all over each other in mountains of agonizing flesh piles until they reached the upper atmosphere does not mean that the world can -functionally- hold that many people.

> Getting rid of a tenured law professor is astronomically difficult.

Unless he gets accused of sexual harassment.

we just need more efficient production techniques, and we're a long way off from mountains of flesh

Lot of words but no tangible evidence to justify your overzealous opinion, kys. You should start by justifying this statement:
>We reached peak population 30 years ago.

Nah, he will stick around

Because it's a good ol boy network thing

You really shouldn't take part in these conversations while being entirely ignorant on the subject.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Overshoot_Day
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Limits_to_Growth

You can start there. There's nothing "overzealous" in pointing out facts, unless you unironically believe that the world is infinitely large, with an infinite amount of resources, and an infinite amount of non-renewable resources.

Limits to Growth, as an example, deals with your insane scenario.

We're not.

Nearly 100% of the planet's useful farmland is already being used. There is land that could technically be used for farming, but the investment costs, combined with pathetic yield, means that we can't simply "farm more" at the same rate we have. And "food" is only a minor factor in the larger picture.

A better example might be crude oil production. There used to be many convenient places to get oil on land, that were relatively cheap.

After these dried up, people switched to making oil wells in water, which is many times more expensive, but were the only deposits available.

In the next decade or so, more money will be spent on attempting to find new oil deposits than it takes to actually mine the oil out itself, since it will be so rare.

Bla bla bla, links to some wiki pages with poorly done computer simulations.

I am waiting for you to explain why
>We reached peak population 30 years ago.

The human population is not growing exponentially. Western population growth has tailed off and it's the same with most developed nations (south Korea, Japan, Singapore, etc.).

There is no simulations that can account for disruption caused by each new technology.

>unless you unironically believe that the world is infinitely large
Are you stupid? We are circling a star that produces near limitless energy, for billions of years. Solar system is full of resources to be exploited. I think it's you who cannot comprehend reality.

>In the next decade or so, more money will be spent on attempting to find new oil deposits than it takes to actually mine the oil out itself, since it will be so rare.
Holy shit, peak oil meme too. You are going full out arn't you.

I miss when the onion wasn't a leftist haven, and was generally subversive to all ideology

>The human population is not growing exponentially. Western population growth has tailed off and it's the same with most developed nations (south Korea, Japan, Singapore, etc.).

Not that user but he's clearly not talking about 1st world nations.

>Are you stupid? We are circling a star that produces near limitless energy, for billions of years. Solar system is full of resources to be exploited. I think it's you who cannot comprehend reality.

Which we lack a sophisticated infrastructure to utilize any of it at the moment. Solar energy alone will take at least another half century before it becomes a dependable source for established infrastructure for multi-billion dollar corporations.

>Holy shit, peak oil meme too. You are going full out arn't you

It's not a meme if it's true. Yes, there is still plenty of oil to get but it's about cost vs. profit. Someone has to pick up the tab and the more obscure places to get oil becomes the more expensive it gets for everyone involved.

science and engineering gets better over time, oil becomes cheaper to get. Developing new methods may start expensive, but they're figured out pretty fast.

Hahahahhahaha... What a joke. Next you're going to parrot out the economic substitution fallacy.

But seriously, the first "fracked" (hydraulic fracturing) well was in the early 1900s when someone dropped a stick of dynamite down the well bore. The first horizontal leg was drilled in the 1930s.

I guess you don't care about looking like a dumbass when you spout off bullshit. New technology, you go user!

Silly faggot

>Silly faggot
Wow, you sure showed him. Good job, my man. /s

this cunt was way worse

I'm glad the EPA was formed to keep cunts like you in check.

it's not that hard when you have a gun

Very astute. I did show you, you silly slinky faggot.

Silly faggot

I doubt those were really his fault

Oh no, not the CDC again...
We covered this with Vaxxed and the MMR didn't we? This is not an infallible institution incapable of corruption like any other institution with supreme authority that self-regulates and may intermittently attempt to develop, expand or safeguard the interests of pharmaceutical industry because of tenacious lobbyists.

Duesberg's views are cited as major influences on South African HIV/AIDS policy under the administration of Thabo Mbeki, which embraced AIDS denialism.

Duesberg served on an advisory panel to Mbeki, convened in 2000. The Mbeki administration's failure to provide antiretroviral drugs in a timely manner, due in part to the influence of AIDS denialism, is thought to be responsible for hundreds of thousands of preventable AIDS deaths and HIV infections in South Africa.[12][13]

Over 300,000 people prematurely died as a result.

>Director: Andrew Wakefield
>Andrew Jeremy Wakefield (born c. 1957) is a British former gastroenterologist and medical researcher, known for his fraudulent 1998 research paper in support of the now-discredited claim that there was a link between the administration of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine, and the appearance of autism and bowel disease.

kek.

Less than 40% of HIV carriers will ever develop AIDS. Many of them will die from medical intervention.

There is no affirmative action at Berkeley. Or at least there is no official affirmative action.

>Peter Duesberg
>German American
>Duesberg grew up during World War II, raised as a Catholic in Germany
About all you need to know - Catholic "scientists".
The AIDS thing is obviously just being a good Papist for his master in Rome. The last thing the Vatican wants is birth control in Africa, it's a huge Papal plantation now. The deaths are more than compensated for by emigration, denial of birth control and sex education. Also the horror of so many people with AIDS is something the Papacy can play as a doom end of days card, the more misery and poverty the better with these people.

Peak oil is a real and proven science applied to individual well, a particular field or the entire planet, latest predictions are permanent decline starting in 2018 or so and this includes all new sources of tight or shale oil, no new elephant fields are being discovered. There are large stockpiles now but these are also taken into account. This information is coming from all sources available. People like yourself are just ignorant on the subject.

>but he's a visionary and nobel prize winner for inventing PCR.
He invented PCR well fuck let him deny HIV is the cause of AIDS he's contributed enough to genetics to let random laymans die.

But seriously we need that shit for gene cloning.

There are already a billion too many Africans. This man is doing god's work.

Sadly, you're still kicking around.

>cats get AIDS
>cats take drugs

because you're not any better. no one can replace him. if you want to replace him, just google until you get caught up on the last 60 years of medical research

>horrible consequences in africa
>Over 300,000 South Africans as a result.

>implying he's a bad person

>The world can hold many more people
Who the fuck wants a world with a few billion extra niggers and mudslimes? Do you have autism or something?

>(((they))) wouldn't just call his research "fraudulent" to save their own asses
Have you cunts learned nothing about how these people operate?

The CDC employee himself who leaked this information swears to the data. Stop being dimheaded and listen to the content of the message and information.

This is the largest industry in the US, largest advertiser, etc. Billions of dollars are at stake.

It's not about letting anyone die. It's about being honest to the scientific truths of the situation. Most likely, what is deadly about "AIDS" is the diseases you catch after your immune system has been depressed from a lifetime of malnutrition, fluid exchange and direct intimate contact with high numbers of STD/disease-carrying individuals, etc. The AZT "medicine" patients were given made the outcomes from these illnesses even worse.

(((They))) even made a movie about it called Dallas Buyer's Club.

It's Tuskegee Tennessee all over again.

>people who aren't suffering from malnutrition don't suffer from HIV
>people who don't contract HIV through unsafe sex don't suffer from HIV
>HIV is harmless without bad hygiene
It's called Human Immunodeficiency Virus for a reason.

so he was wrong?

Just found an enormous untapped fiel in AK

>300k dead niggers
>Bad thing

no it can't, unless we all go vegan

Solo he stopped a potential 5 million HIV cases then?

>Over 300,000 DEAD South Africans as a result.

If you think not being able to tap into the dense energy source of potatoes will expand our ability to house more humans on this planet, think again. And for productivity's sake, I'd rather eat inefficiently produced steak for an hour total each day instead of chewing cud 24/7.

He did humanity a favor
