Let's make dinner

3 pounds of beef chuck, cubed
2 white onions, chopped
dry marjoram
kosher salt
Hungarian paprika
cayenne
black pepper
caraway seed
dried thyme

are you making stew, nig nog?

goulash time

searing the beef in batches

all the beef is seared

dropped pic

Just bought three pounds of chuck for this stuff

You'd better have some fucking potatoes, nigger

watching/bumping

get ready for a long wait then

If does not simmer for at least 3 hours, OP is a fucking hack

cooked the onions with a little butter and a pinch of salt for 5 minutes

toasted the spices in the dry pan for about 5 minutes

I will be checking this thread later tonight or tomorrow for the whole process and finished product. Don't stop!

frying some tomato paste and garlic with the spicies

deglazed the iron pan with a cup of chicken stock, then added it to the larger pan with the beef and additional stock to almost cover the meat

brought to a boil, reduced to a simmer and now cleaning and prepping veggies for a salad

I thinly sliced some red onion, quartered some very tasty hydroponic tomatoes, and made a honey-Dijon vinaigrette

The goulash is happily simmering and I'm having a very nice beer

bonus pic of the weird pile of crap I had for breakfast this morning

...

what is that?

hash browns topped with crumbled breakfast sausage, grilled peppers and onions

I ordered two over medium eggs on the side. It was pretty decent after I hosed everything down with Cholula

huh, the crumbled sausage kind of looked like an overcooked grain

monitoring this bred

been simmering for about 90 minutes now. the sauce is starting to tighten up and the beef is beginning to become tender and tasty.

I think another 45 minutes should just about do the trick. I'll be serving the goulash over buttered noodles with salad on the side.

looks pretty good

...

Good looking goulash.

chicken stock for a beef based dish

Nice sear, looks good.

>that butchered onion
knife skills need a little work

that's a very old dog

recipe called for chicken stock and a "rustic" chop on the onions

On the menu at the diner it's literally called Jimmy's Garbage Breakfast
