Beer general

Buying, cellaring or maybe even drinking?

Got some nice new to me stuff tonight and started it of with this pale ale. One of the best single hop straight pales i have had!

Had this the other night.

Very similar to a high ABV Pliny the Elder. Not as balanced, and heavier on the grapefruit.

Just bought a beer to celebrate tomorrow's Baltic Porter Day.

Finally got around to trying this. While it's not mind blowing, I could easily see this being a go to in the summer. It went down incredibly easy

I fucked up a little today in the alcohol expensive Nordic country I live in. Bought myself what I thought was the La Trappe Tripel that I wanted to try. Found out that I had accidentally grabbed La Trappe Dubbel which I've had twice already.
Shit happens. At least I also got myself one Gregorius quadruple so I'll have one new trappist beer to try.

Pipeworks is great. If you can, try Ninja vs Unicorn

Why do they have such awful names?

Had this one from them as well tonight, well made lower abv ipa!

Got a hold of my first Bourbon County Stout, never been able to find it in my area. For some reason a random small town wine store has some.

I like KBS, SMS, and other aged barrel aged stouts, so this should me dank, right?

I didn't know this was a thing. I've only tried like two Baltic Porters but I liked them a lot.

Had a Kook in the tub this afternoon.

Trying to wash away the reality of the inauguration.

Picked this up for like $3. Is it as good as it looks? I can't drink it until Sunday because I gotta go to a funeral.

Try not to use up the world's supply of soap; it still won't help us.

what's up chicago nigga, been drinking a lot of revoultion pils recently. it's my favorite beer when you can get it less than a week old. also enjoying braderbrau's south side pride -- cheers!

>to wash away the reality

I denoginized.

>all the useless alcoholics are also dumb liberals
wow, big surprise there.

What does a multi-millionaire drink (assuming you voted for Trump)?

whatever he wants

what does a lying crook who's "we want the tumblr audience" campaign crashed and burned drink?

>whatever he wants

I was asking the person I replied to, as only a multi-millionaire (or an idiot) would have voted for Trump.

>sage for off topic

i am the person you replied to.

Trump doesn't drink.

I'd assume most rich people drink expensive wine and/or scotch?

>the rapist

This is the stuff

Got a pack of pc pils for cheap today. Total wine is trying to get rid of the stuff so that's probably what I'll be drinking until they run out. Also grabbed a bottle of pic related for 6$. Grand Tetons sweet grass pale ale used to be my go to so I figure I'd give it a try.

What's your favorite nitro beers?

trying to expand beyond pic related

...

They have very bizarre distribution. None of my local craft beer stores stocked it. I somehow ended up finding a bunch in some street corner crack house liquor store that usually only sells 40s.

It's good shit though. I didn't realize how good BCBS was until I tried other stouts after it

You work for pepsi?

Framboise>Cassis>Peche>Pomme>Kriek

This is good stuff too, just keep in mind it is quite a bit stronger.

what's the alc %?

Trump voting rednecks get drunk all the time

I drank the bright blueish version, different beer from einstöck, it wasn't too bad, if I remember well enough.

Thanks. Can't wait to try it

Haven't posted in one of these in a while (mostly because I've been drinking my own homebrew and those don't get many replies), but the beer I'm drinking right now merits an exception.

How'd i do? Local food mart has pick six for $11

Anyone ever have any Schlafly stuff? Pretty good if you can find it.

Statistically southerners drink much less that the rest of us

The Evangelicals might not drink a lot, but the rednecks who aren't that religious certainly do

Should have not picked up the corona, guiness, or strongbow and got real beer instead.

I'm new to this and there were so many brands I've never heard of ;_;

I'll try to find some, my normal grocery store didn't have it (they had another brand of Old Chub)

Educated white northerners drink the most

Also for the most part evangelicals and rednecks are the exact same people. Not a lot of atheists or Catholics in the south. Drinking patterns very closely breaks now on traditional Catholic vs traditional Evangelical areas

Guinness Extra Stout is really good, though

Most rednecks aren't that religious. I know a white trash family (Trump supporters) and they drink a lot

I'm sure plenty of us anecdotally know some not very religious rednecks, but statistically being religious strongly correlates with not having much money both with rednecks and minorities. The areas where people have the least money, and drink the least, and are most religious all strongly correlate

you don't find mosaic single hop beers give off a garlic, onion flavor?

personally i think that hop should only ever be added during fermentation

I live in as red a state as you can get, and the white trash Drumpf supporters drink a shitload. Sure, they drink garbage pisswater, but that's what you have to expect. Whenever I've offered a homebrew, they act like they'll be poisoned. "Muh I wants muh coors lite".

There are literal dry counties in the south still

I think the type of rednecks who actually take religion seriously might not drink much. But there are tons who either don't care about religion much, or perhaps don't find drinking to be unholy. I suppose this varies by which part of the South, too.

I mean, just listen to current country music, it talks about beer so much. Getting drunk is certainly a redneck pastime.

>you don't find mosaic single hop beers give off a garlic, onion flavor?
Didn't have that with Mosaic yet. There's been beers that tasted like onion, though. Pic related did if I remember correctly. That one was Galaxy and Simcoe, though. I wonder what causes this. I have the feeling it's some brewing/storage defect.

forgot pic

As someone from the north, I feel like a real alcoholic when I am amongst southerners, people consider drinking 4 Bud Lights to be a pretty good night

This stuffs not bad. Cheapest 30 pack at the store. And it was in Jaws!

Some hops just have strange characteristics. They undergo huge changes during boiling

Recently turned 21, I've hated the taste of beer for so long but now i'm forcing myself to drink it. Recommend me a "good"/ go-to beer for a pleb to try.

Spotted cow

Dunno. I've brewed with both Mosaic and Simcoe and never had that happen to me.

Rednecks love drinking

As well as wearing their hair long.

And while not in this video, smoking weed as well.

My pregame alone is 4 beers and I'm a Northerner too. But I think binge drinking must be pretty common in the South as well.

What state?

This is only out for 3 months. What is a similar tasting beer that is available year round?

One time I was drinking craft beers (Coney Island Mermaid Pilseners to be exact), and these rednecks were like "why did you drink that weird beer"? They only drink Bud Light.

>what state

Think which state ranks lowest in virtually any category you could name and who's state budget is almost 50% federal money although the vast majority of it's coors and bud light drinking citizens gnash their teeth and wail about needing to cut federal spending in their pentocostal and evangelical tabernacles, located for your convenience, every half block.

Is it Mississippi? How are you even supposed to function there if you're left leaning?

I guess alabama

Is it Mississippi? How does a leftist function there?

It is. Quietly, very quietly.

Even in Kentucky, the big cities lean blue if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure how it is in Mississippi.

Jackson's really the only city that could even approximate "big," and it's virtually all black, so if they think about politics at all, which is doubtful, it's probably left. I live in the country though, so I just try to do my own thing with a vegetable garden fishing and hunting, reading and thinking. Brewing alcohol, getting drunk and getting on anonymous internet forums. Not off the grid, but getting closer and closer to it.

The Ballast Point is the only one that you actually got any kind of a deal on.

Use the Guinness for cooking; throw the cider and corona in the trash.

*tips fedora*

I'm drinking the cider, it's not bad

Boulevard is such an underrated brewery. All their staples are top-class and their higher end stuff is amazing. I hate that they don't distribute in TN anymore. One of the first times I got drunk on craft beer was a 6 pack of user's pic.

The Corona plant is located about 50 miles south of Texas, and they are planning on fucking up the water table down there (which is already having problems to begin with due to fracking, drought, and consumption) Don't support this by buying Corona. Tastes like shit too.

Does this go for Modelo too?

Ah so buy it so I can get more American liberal tears. Kay!

You have to be a fucking retard to damage the environment just to spite liberals

Well shit, I see your liberals do it all the time so I might as well join in.

And fracking hasn't been confirmed so yeah, bud I'm down for more tears. Should I post em on Twitter?

how did you fuck up that head so "pourly"

Yes, they are. Welcome to the world of cry baby politics.

Oh come now. I'm asking for some actual peer reviewed articles proving it. Seeing as how well chic fil a did after your lot threw a temper tantrum, I might as well help out a Mexican company as well. Or are you a racist who doesn't care at all for Mexico?

one thing you oughta learn (as I'm assuming you're a canuck) is that liberals really don't care at all for other races. just there to get their feel good points then fuck back off to suburbia.

>your lot
You have no idea what my political views are.
Go back to /pol/.

So it wrong of me to generalize but okay for you? Double standard much? Still waiting btw.

>le /pol/ boogeyman xD
well prove him wrong then.

Where did I generalize anything? I called you out on your childish "liberal tears" bullshit. Also I don't even know what you're looking for. Studies on how fracking is bad for the environment? Let me go light a lake on fire in North dakota.

Still waiting bud. Got all night. Also fracking is usually done 500-600 feet or lower down. Typical ignorant leftist drone.

I won't buy it again

One Google search.
serc.carleton.edu/NAGTWorkshops/health/case_studies/hydrofracking_w.html

Im poor right now

>hydrofracking
>American education
Jesus. So indoctrinated, it turned you guys into retards. Lel

Then please explain what you're talking about, because fracking to me is exactly what I posted.

Did you take a screenshot of you taking a picture?

Google is apparently easy to you. You find out. Burden of proof is on you.

oh hes just obsessing over Americans, its a european hobby. Its a very rich culture, obsessing over Americans is one of their past times, dont be rude.

They live in third world countries, share beds with each other, argue about crumpets, and only take showers once every "fortnight"(every 5 weeks). Its very eco friendly and progressive. To them we seem very backwards and wasteful. Try to be more understanding. :^)

Yes I Googled fracking and it completely coincided with what I posted. So now I'm curious as to what I'm missing.

>tfw the only beer you've had is natty light and miller out of cans at parties.

FRACKING IS NOT A FUCKING BEER CUNTS

...

That melty cheese tho

Steel reserve is probably my favorite miller beer too.
Not bad, 6/10
