because our brain doesn't trust us at the wheel of the important stuff. aka evolution figured out we survive better if we don't have access to certain stuff

So pussy is dangerous to you?

imagine what it would be like if women could induce menstruation whenever they wanted to. if they could it would decrease the likelyhood that their vagine would be ready to fertilize an egg. if all that cap just fell out of your bag at will how would the egg latch onm we'd be screwed. I'm sure there are other problems as well.

>cap
crap
>bag
vag

Because there is no need. What goes on inside is repetitive and it's only dangerous when it doesn't function accordingly to other things. We pay attention to what's outside of ourselves, where the unusual and dangerous may come from, but our bodily functions are mechanized and therefore alienated of our attention. There are levels though. I find it particulary intelligent that our bladder does not require our control when empty or close to empty, but when it's full, it increasingly require us to pay attention and hold it "manually". You see how the more in relationship to the outside, the more control we have. We can chew, and pay attention to it, spit poisonous stuff, but we don't control our intestines. We can breath manually or automatically, air goes in and goes out and we can control this process, while something like the heart or liver seems to work on its own, only relating to what the other organs are doing.

You don't have as much control as you may think about anything, anyway. Have you ever noticed you don't control your brain?

>You don't have as much control as you may think about anything, anyway. Have you ever noticed you don't control your brain?

you have no control

We have all the control our consciousness needs. Do we need to control our breathing (i.e. to speak)? Yes, we do. Do we need to do it all the time? No. Do we need to have control over when to piss and shit? Yes. Do we need to control all of our digestion? No. Do we need to control our heartbeats? Hell no.

Etc.

The real question is why we need to sleep.
As long as we need it it's no surprise evolution made us to lose body control when sleeping, it would be way too dangerous.
