Cream cheese or greek yogurt usually gets rid of that pasty, artificial cheese texture. Add garlic, parsley, green onion, bacon bits, etc. for flavor.

Make the cheese sauce in the pot you boiled the noodles in after you drain the noodles. I add a couple kraft singles and extra butter, pepper, and garlic powder. Get jiggy with it.
