In the UK (and elsewhere?) is a chain called pizza express and they are supposed to be "authentic" Italian pizza and I've had pizzas from there where the cheese is are completely separate ingredient rather than a base. But they do a bank pizza called the American which is all cheese a ball over plus pepperoni.

But most other pizza place I've been to does pizzas the "american" way because they have cheese all over. But those are fast food places like dominoes or pizza hut or pizza gogo.

I do literally like a cheese pizza though where the cheese is over everything and is inside the crust. (Not talking cp here).
