Have any of the restaurants that Ramsay has gone to to in the US ever subsequently turned a profit?

Only about a 1/4 of them recover, iirc. To be fair, he goes to restaurants that are hundreds of thousands of dollars, sometimes up to a million, in debt. Hard to recover from such a deep hole and it's easier to declare bankruptcy.

plus in the US shows all they get is basically a quick makeover, all the incompetent people stay incompetent

in the UK version it at least looks like he's spending some time with the staff, teaching and explaining stuff to them

constantly adjusting the menu prices

a sunday buffet
grand reopening

I instituted a Sunday buffet in my restaurant back in '06. That after church crowd makes me so much money.

I'm sure he probably does that in the US version, too, but in TV executives' and a lot of viewers' minds yelling and screaming and family drama makes for better TV (unfortunately) so it doesn't make the cut.

In the end, though, there's no fixing years of bad habits, incompetence, and debt in 48 hours or however long Ramsay has.

Why is British TV so bland and boring?

Socialists are boring people in general if they're not taking your hard worked for money, possessions or freedoms.
The only time they ever show a little spunk or flair is when they're rioting in the streets after soccer games, political turmoil, or find biscuits and tea 25% off.

women involved anywhere besides hostess

i had a friend who worked at a restaurant where the owner was trying to dye lemons green, because lemons are cheaper than limes.

Holy shit this. Soda and tea is so fucking cheap

in the UK version it looks like he's there for like at least a week, plus he comes back later to check up on them

Selling $50 gift certificates at $30

Screaming owners

But they taste different, dyeing them won't trick anyone

>has a hallal option in the menue

Take your racism somewhere else moron

Makes sense since limes are hipster lemons. Hipsters probably wouldn't even notice the flavor difference.

>Makes sense since limes are hipster lemons. Hipsters probably wouldn't even notice the flavor difference.
This is true.

>dirty kitchen (apathy, sloth)
>food basics, cold, overdone, underdone, stale, freezer burned, etc.
>>the above, when not peak hours
>>>the above, peak hours
>frequent 86 of items on special (stupidity, cheapskate)
>principal taking cash from the til
>tip "pooling"
>tip shaving by principal
>mechanical portion control on liquor (management literally flying surrender due to incompetence flag)
>staff scoops ice with glass (incompetence, impending reputation-killing health incident)
>wait staff serves any glass by touching it above the lip line (incompetence, impending rep-killing health incident)
>market price items fix-priced, not marked "market price" on the menu (incompetence, price gouging, maybe embezzlement)
>bar is more crowded than dining room
>three head chefs in under a year
>using booze as loss leader
>revealing "secret recipes" as promotion
>incremental replacement of scratch items with sourced items, like pizza crusts, baked goods, deserts, potato derivatives especially fries -
>substituted, unlabeled seafood. Fake scallops, fake crabmeat, mislabeled ocean fish -
>featuring "Tilapia"
>>then 86-ing it before 8pm.
>100% wait staff turnover per year, primary complaint "in the weeds all shift"
>dominant customer profile over age 50
>most frequent regular visits less than once per month
>regulars only show up for one seasonal dish
>place never offers seasonal dishes
>"specials" are regular dishes wait staff told to push

and my personal favorite

>line item charges for condiments, butter, bread, rolls, and/or extra napkins, coffee refills, and/or cream and sugar, and/or gravy, and/or salad dressing.

Seconded. Veeky Forums is based off multiculturalism, respect and mutual love. We don't need bigots shitting up good threads, we need respectful and constructive conversations and racism isn't related to cooking.

I give White Castle about seven more years. They're on the Sears trajectory.

I've never been to a restaurant that charged for extra napkins, but I would definitely not return if I found one.

accurate

>market price items fix-priced, not marked "market price" on the menu (incompetence, price gouging, maybe embezzlement)

What?

Literally everything is "market price", and the only time something should be indicated as such with no fixed price is if the item can fluctuate often by large margins.

If you think the fixed price is too high for something you think should be cheaper on the "market", then don't get it.

I've been trying to tell my boss all this, but he's a fucking cheapskate gook. Just gotta hold out one more year before I graduate.

I saw it happen in a deli which had been popular for decades, but the original owner retired, and sold the place to a true believer in co-operative, hippie-style management. She implemented every stupid suggestion in the name of egalitarian morality and it went predictably to shit in under a year.

>five gallon tubs of pre-made coleslaw.

>if the item can fluctuate often by large margins.

Literally the definition of market price.

>December Only Special
>Fresh live lobster
>$29.99/lbs

>December Only Special
>Fresh live lobster
>Market Price

Now tell me these are both free and fair menu practices.

Let me guess: This is your first time posting here?

I only see chink places do this. They say its to keep kids from becoming too fat

look at the parking lot. if it is empty most hours especially during lunch and dinner it will fail.

did you ever have weekday buffets. I hated paying an extra $4 a plate just for weekend buffets

nana called chicken tails "popes hat"
she was based

More like trump hates love, am I riight?

You're right about the financial and hygiene problems. They can kill a restaurant stone dead.
The other ones... depends on the customers and the competition. Places can go on being dispiriting for ages if they're cheap and quick. Especially if they're doing mostly the lunchtime trade.

I'm not blaming the customers for not going to that business after a Ramsay episode, even if he "magically fixes everything".

Seriously, you've SEEN how dirty and incompetent the restaurant is, why would you ever give them a when you've got other local restaurants that, at least, you don't know for sure if it's dirty and it's managed by a bunch of cunts.

when they start trying random promotions and they keep getting more desperate.
Groupbuy site deals like groupon being some of the worst, many don't realize the logistics of what they're getting into and just end up bleeding more money while pissing off potential customers.

>waaaaa you hurt my feelings
Lol fuck off nigger

Enjoy your ban just like the user I reported whose post is now gone
