This is what Johnny (linkpool) said in the telegram channel regarding the code review:
“There's a couple of points he's made which shows he hasn't really had a deep look through the code or the whitepaper.
When he says "This means they are currently coding for a limited set of cases, but, I’m sure they will still expand on it, so let’s move on." about the HTTP headers and only using basic auth, it's designed like that because of external adaptors. The file he screenshotted was from the utils package, not the package with all the adaptors in.
I find it a weird omission if he really looked through it, because external adaptors open the node up to any data source in any format.
Same is said about the point after: "Their code is incredibly Ethereum intertwined, so it wasn’t designed with multiple blockchains in mind".
It's designed in a way to be modular, for example the list of core adaptors: github.com
I like that he's picked up on being able to define crons, that's a good feature about CL. Just with him stating about the timezones, isn't true as it's in UTC.
He's right with the consesus and validation code, but that's what needs to be done next. I've said it a few times with us waiting on the main-net contracts and that's what they'll do.
Good to see a post which dives more into CL though, good read.”
Jacob Roberts
.>Ethereum intertwined
Sure, it's built on Ethereum but it'll be agnostic in as much as other blockchains can still feed data into it
I talked to Enigma's team at NEO devcon and they said that ChainLink has one of the most technically solid WP they've ever seen
I think they might know a bit more than some random on Medium
Alexander Nguyen
oh god, you guys are fucked
you have no idea ^_____^
what's the first rule of crypto? don't fall in love with a coin?
sorry you guys invested too much of your parents money into this to let go at a loss
consider this karma for polluting the fuck out of biz with your lemming autism

Guys....... what if this whole thing was a false-flag operation by Rory to make biz lose interest in LINK to try and reduce our interest and therefore autistic memes, which could tarnish the project.
Austin Kelly
The LINK token thing was stupid.
Quite a few people have said they don't believe in ETH being the smart-contract platform long term.
So LINK using it's tokens makes perfect sense, so the oracles can be blockchain agnostic.
Justin Lee
When will they learn?

lapst post before bedtime, just for fun:

>"It’s very nice code, but it shows a lack of production experience, they are very far from achieving their whitepaper goals, for now they are a standalone application that can listen to Ethereum only events and do very basic HTTP requests. They have an incredibly long road still ahead of them to finish their concept."
sounds PERFECT, let's ask mommy for more money :D:D:D:D
Luke Nguyen
It's already too late for that. If they wanted to they should have done it back when toilet FUD was gaining traction , not now when a full blown meme ecosystem has formed around LINK
Dominic Mitchell
Could be, a bunch of people messaged him asking him to tell you guys to knock it off.
Ryder Parker
(Extremely NEET voice): Shut up, I'm still accumulated.
Andrew Rogers
>For now they are a standalone application that can listen to Ethereum only events and do very basic HTTP requests
I have been telling you guys for the past months that any decent programmer could do what these guys have done in the span of years in a day or two

Noah Nelson
says who? some schmuck on medium? Honestly, that lil punk couldn't hold a candle to Sergey and his expert team of coders. This FUD is mud.
Christopher Gutierrez
hell yeah ima be a chameleonaire

>some random
You have to go back.
Lucas White
listening to these guys talk about this event is pretty funny. they apparently took acid and came down right as they were seated and the awards were beginning and they then had to sit through it all feeling miserable. they also made it a point to not acknowledge what they were wearing at all in interviews. anytime someone asked about the dresses they just gave stock celebrity answers like “such a beautiful night everything is so beautiful”
Juan King
w-why s-s-sergey-san...
Jackson Gutierrez
Rory and Sergey asked him to review the code. Another stroke of genius marketing from the fine minds at SmartContract.
Lincoln Morgan
he actually says the code is good. it's just that there isn't much of it.
still better than 90% of the projects in crypto
the funny part is, anybody can contribute to the project. it's fucking open source. if you want to see faster progress, just contribute ffs.
Owen Cox
Your FUD is mud.

Your FUD is mud.

Why wouldn't I just build my own then? Whats the point of a fucking ICO if I have to build the motherfucker myself at the end of the day?
Hunter Watson
you're braindead, stop asking retarded questions holy fuck mate.
Reading shit like this makes me not want to use Veeky Forums
Christopher Nelson
Nobody wants you building anything, sweetie
Noah Evans
I like to believe this is the same guy that uses this pepe in all the link threads. his undying confidence gives me hope.
Jordan Perry
you know the biggest problem link has?
It does not install on or talk to windoze severs which run 90% of ERP systems and houses like credit Suisse
you literally need a dev team to make it do anything with mssql
Gabriel Roberts
>It does not install on or talk to windoze severs which run 90% of ERP systems and houses like credit Suisse
Yeah so what's the problem?
Now the users cannot possibly choose to cuck themselves unless they virtualize.
Grayson Cox
sell your link
Cameron Taylor
contributing is not the same shit as building the whole thing.
yeah technically you're providing free labor for something that you already technically paid for. joke's on you for buying into an ICO where the money you put in gives you absolutely no power over the company's decisions.
now that leaves you with two options:
- wait for the devs to do everything at their own pace because there is literally nothing you can do to influence the way they work and hope that they deliver in time so your coin can moon. shitpost on Veeky Forums in the meantime
- get involved with the project, push code and new features and increase the likelihood that the project will succeed. learn valuable skills and gain experience in the meantime so you can get a better job than flipping burgers in case the project eventually does fail.
