I totally thought this was a made up beer from a webcomic I read. Is it available in the states? I'd love to try some.

Bought a bottle of the seasonal double red ale from Ninkasi waiting for me at home after work, very excited to try it out.

Just turned 21. Where the fuck do I start? I was so excited to go to the beer store, but I had no idea what the hell to get. I got a bottle of raspberry lambic and some random stout. What's a good stout or lambic? I'll try anything, as long as it's not a super-duper strong stout. I know the ABV in those can get pretty high.

I live in southern California, if anyone wants to recommend a local brewery.

I'm not sure where to start so I just drink cheap bourbon mostly, sometimes get nicer stuff but realistically only routinely drink the cheap bourbon out of familiarity

Dude, don't worry about it. There's nothing to suggest that alcohol in and of itself causes permanent effects to memory or perception. I mean, your other organs, sure, but not your brain.

The general consensus in the scientific community is that 14 servings of alcohol per week over a long period of time has the potential to cause damage to your liver. One serving = a 1.5oz shot, a 12 oz 5% beer, 5oz glass of wine, etc...

This is just a broad rule of thumb. Obviously it depends on things like genetics and if you're using any other substances which can potentiate the harmful effects on the liver.

But it's not going to fuck with your memory or perception in the long term. There is no evidence that really suggests that other than intense mental decline for prolonged extreme abuse

Any amount of alcohol greatly increases your risk of some cancers, as far as I know it doesn't make you dumber until 30th+ drinks/week though

Certain populations have elevated cancer risk, for example Asians have significantly elevated esophageal cancer risk.

I feel like it messes with my memory and face recognition but that might just be lack of sleep.

Decent beer but not great, the ceramic bottle stands out more than any of the elements on the glass.

Mad jelly senpai, I hate that I can only get shit like that in the occasional seasonal pack that they put out. They are hands down probably my favorite brewery.

The only beer of theirs I've had that I didn't like was their Gose that they released not too long ago, but I think that's just because I'm not a fan of the style.

Hello Veeky Forums I can't really drink but my sister loves to and I'm hoping you folks can help me out a bit. This is her 'favorite' beer (La Chouffe, but specifically the Mc Chouffe) and whenever she finds one she likes while we're out it's almost always served in a snifter or similar glass. Severely disappointed in this. It's pretty weak, both in taste and ABV. I'm on my fourth of these (with a couple shots of whiskey in between) and I can still type coherently. Should've stuck with the Surly Furious.
