Did you let the whites come to room temperature Cold egg whites don't whip up as well.
Also was the mixing bowl and beaters SPOTLESSLY CLEAN? Even a trace of fat will interfere with mixing. This is also why getting even a bit of the yolk in with the whites will ruin a batch.

I'm gonna say something was wrong with the bowl (since it's plastic and probably has little scratches in it by now).
Any things you could add to counteract it? I saw two using either lemon juice or cornflour

Omg I just finished this season and couldn't get over how much of a qt ruby was. That fishing for compliments low self esteem before presenting her bakes got old though. Still would stick my dick in her cakes and put in her butthole and make her eat it off afterwards.
