Favorite Comfort Food

What's your favorite food you cook or eat to relax?

Shepherds Pie is my go to when I want to spend a little bit of me time on a windy day, and it's always a crowd pleaser. I'm making it with ground veal and lamb.

I like fried pork chops with rice. sometimes i smother the rice in brown gravy, other times i smother it in salsa (I warm it in a pan). some good pinto beans and fried eggs on the side. maybe some greens.

i really like frying pork chops. they don't splatter grease like some foods, and they bubble in the oil in a really soothing way. definitely relaxes me and the food is great.

My photography is shit. Poppin this sucka in the oven.

Eating breakfast foods is relaxing to me, especially at non-breakfast hours. Not sure why, but for me it's comfort food.

Made this last Sunday for dinner

They were fuckin slammin

you eat them all?

...

damn those look good. Southern cooking is tits.

My. Knee. Grow.

Breakfast for dinner is the shit. Well done, user.

God damn I wish I could eat carbs. That looks so awesome.

I tried taking a pic of it straight out of the oven but it was attacked before I was able to get to my camera.

I would eat this. Nice job, OP

Thank you.

I love white people comfort food.

Here's my Irish stew. I call it Irish because it's loaded with beer, and so am I when I cook it.

I made some kheer-style rice pudding. Man, it is good. Condensed milk, cardamom, and cinnamon is the secret.

Chicken piccata. I pretty much only cook comfort food.

Yeah, I'm gonna need you to marry me.

For my birthday I got myself a fried seafood platter.

My enchiladas are great. Sorry for dumping so many pics, I want to get them onto my computer.

Day old pork ribs shredded and sauteed with a cheap store-bought BBQ sauce in a potato bread hotdog bun with baked broccoli and a hash brown made in a waffle iron + ketchup.

That's my full-on, blanket, snuggle and Netflix food. I do it like once every couple of months.

Muffuletta. Mortadella, salami, ham, provolone, olive salad. Toasty.

Pupusa. Google it.

You know you can press a tube of raw cinnamon rolls in a waffle iron?

Fried oyster po boy.

Good lord that's a large image of Tacos.

>no cheese
Are you a lactard like me?

The ultimate midnight snack.

Never tried it before...does it also work with croissants?

Nah man, I love leche. Traditional tacos are served with cilantro, onion and cut with lime. Salsa verde is optional but I love it, especially when it's house made with avocado.

Here's some gorditas and tacos from the food truck.

However when I cook American style tacos with ground beef, the condiments are completely different.

Like so.

My treat to myself if I'm hungry as fuck is McD's breakfast with coffee. It's not healthy for you to get it all the time.

Like Pillsbury crossaint? Google "waffle iron hacks"

I'm am right now. Thanks.

That looks fucking delicious.

I'm realizing how good I've been eating lately.

Bagels n lox

Oops, here's pic

Thank you user. I try to do good cooking for the family.

Here's some more Jew food. Reuben with homemade potato salad.

Must have clicked wrong picture.

this potato, cheese, cream, bacon, ham layered thing i tried to do off a tasty recipe.
this was my very first one.

i am now pretty decent at it.

-wow did not think it would link to my facebook.
when did Veeky Forums start doing that?-

how so?

how so what?

Lamb Vindaloo, as hot as you can make it

what do you mean it was linked to Facebook

i copied the picture over from facebook because i showed up my dish to my friends and senpai.

it linked directly to the post so i changed the name and reposted it.

try it yourself

>Comfort food
Meatloaf and mashed potatoes, you can't beat it, user.

your filename is a web address?

Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, some green beans, and rolls.

Sounds like what someone would order as their last meal before execution in Georgia.

Gouda and crackers. Really looking forward to Friday night when I'll have it for dinner.

this is going to be my fav thing to post now XD

do you know of a good recipe
I made cottage pie and it was just bland as fuck

I used Alton Brown's recipe as a guide, but the proportions were different. I used ground lamb and ground veal with a bit of ground sausage. I used an immersion blender for the potatoes and added cream, butter, and egg yolk.

I left out corn for the filling and seasoned with rosemary and marjoram instead of thyme. Added mushrooms. Worchesterschire is a must along with tomato paste.

I baked the pie for ~30 min before I covered it with cheddar and let that bake longer after.

Polenta with sausage-y bolognese and plenty of cheese.

I wait for that first really cold winter day just so I can make it and feel warm and fuzzy inside. If you eat it too often you'll become a whale most likely, so you have to exercise moderation.

My mom's Spanish rice with two over easy eggs and about 3-4 tortillas. Add a few shakes of tapatio hot sauce.
My favorite.
That or my meatloaf.

Your meatloaf a shit

No u

I call my Irish stew Irish because it has no potatoes.

Why is your country so violent

It's a mixed feudal/tribal society where the state has always been weak (basically the right wing dream society), so ideological conflicts would get tested on the battlefield instead of in the ballot box.

Foreign meddling has made matters worse (Colombian and Mexican narcotics barons and American megacorporations)

Also, large numbers of American criminals were exported there in the 80s and, lacking any local support networks because they mostly grew up in America, they basically created their own supergang which filled a power vacuum and became unstoppable

Fair enough

Pupusas be good though.

Is that a scone cheeseburger?

>Roast lamb, potatoes, carrots and a lot of gravy
>Choc fudge brownies
>Choc chip cookies and Milk
>Cheeseburgers
>Pulled pork sandwiches with pickle, American mustard and barbecue sauce

>American mustard

Is there any other kind?

Had no idea these existed. Gonna make me some. Is this recipe about right? cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1017183-cheese-pupusas

I've never made them. They sell them around me. The ones I got were made by some old church ladies.

Not sure if jingoism or stupidity

Seriously, what is American mustard?

Holy fuck that's a lot of grease, you're meant to drain it after browning the meat you fucking mong

Yellow Mustard.

Who let the retards into the cooking board? Do you know how to cook, son?

Mild yellow mustard, like French's

>I was only pretending to be retired

feed my fat face a ton of carbs.
linguine with baby spinach and herbs in a light butter and olive oil "sauce" and good parmesean

>Half and half. Fucking rice and chips in mashed potato!? Retarded
>Butter instead of milk
>A fucking egg yolk
>No cheese
>Canola oil
>Chicken broth
>Sweetcorn

American 'food' is well deserving of it's reputation as the worst in the world

I love cooking/eating chili, I usually have venison available from hunt-friend and man is deer chili good
>pic semi-related

funny thing is... shepards pie isnt popular over here, so who gives a fuck what this tv chef has to say about it

Chicken broth and corn were retarded, so I left them out. Cream, butter, and egg yolk make your potato layer creamy and bake nicely.

Pretty sure Britain has the reputation for bad food.

I. Love. Venison. Chili.

I'd say for me, it'd be Japanese curry over rice (onions, carrots, celery, potato and tender chicken thighs) with sharp cheddar cheese. Maybe with a little bit of hot sauce mixed in.

>implying i need to stuff my face with fat greasy garbage because my life is shit

healthy amount of 'chup.

Oven roasted root vegetables and a dry sherry

Thats a lot of oil there, buddy

It's not much, I drained the meat. That oil is from the first scoop of the pie right out the oven before it cooled.

Jesus, what else is in there to make so much grease? It can't be just the cheese.

>Comfort Food
I'm not a baby brained american.

>durr, I'm too cool to like a thing so I'm going to come up with an original shitpost

some braised pork belly with rice

Don't feed the troll comfort food.

Mine is crab rangoons.

Wow those eggs look perfect user.

No it's a biscuit sandwich with breakfast sausage

Thank you

I like to slow roast a hunk of meat, carrots, potatoes, and mushrooms all day long. Poor the hot juice all over everything from the roaster before eating. The most tender stuff, easy as shit and comforting on a dreary day.
