I buy these massive butcher's deal 1kg hunks of lean ground beef that cost $11, I chunk it into 10 roughly 1/4lb blocks. the chunk of meat I put in usually ends up being the same price as the raw sauce, so I can feed 4 people a very hearty portion for like $1 per person, sometimes less.
