It's not a good way of doing things because it distorts the market and inefficiently allocates resources. You can't just give a tax break to every company that threatens to leave, because they'll all threaten to leave. What the US needs is comprehensive tax reform--moves like Carrier make a good show, but ultimately does very little to prevent jobs leaving in the long term.

I guess at the end of the day the Trump Campaign has all just been an infinite jest.
