Guess my meat

Guess my meat.

Looks like rabbit or squirrel to me

Rabbit

looks too small to be rabbit so squirrel

A damn big squirrel

Rabbit. How are you cooking it?

'coon

Damn you guys are good. Red squirrel it is.

this is a food and cooking board, what did you fucking expect

squirrel isn't that exotic

Squirrel. salt and pepper battered. fried, and finished it off in the oven for good measure. It was impossible to dry out.

That was a damn big squirrel. The grey ones I get are not nearly that large. That's why I guessed rabbit.

Did you kill it yourself?
I was throwing shit at squirrels in my garden this morning. I've half a mind to put out the money for a trap and cook the bitches.

Nope it was pretty small. The grey ones around here are city squirrels and are a lot bigger.

Ya i got them with my .22

It was 2 squirrels.

Nice shot

~2"

Doesn't squirrel get way too tough when fried

Meat only gets tough if you overcook it. That applies to all meat regardless of its source.

My aunt makes squirrel and dumplings.
It's a surprisingly good meat.

Hard to overcook this squirrel. I was worried about disease so I baked it in the oven after frying for half an hour. It was still moist. Like fatty dark meat chicken wings.
