I spend an obscene amount of time gathering ingredients, then cooking them in BoTW. More time than actual quests I'd wager.

Fictional feasts

>that spicy meat and mushroom skewer
It sounds so simple but so good. That game's had me wanting skewers for days. Also pic related is interesting

I'm gonna be honest, most of the cooking i did in BoTW was when i was near the lava mountain cause you can cook meat just by letting it sit on the ground.

>Fictional Foods
When I was a kid, I liked anime because I thought they were so imaginative making up fictional fantasy foods

Then I got older and realized it was real japanese food that nobody likes except for tasteless nips.

>Rice balls are a real thing. They're literally just balls of white rice with some seaweed on one side.

>Mocchi is a real thing. It's uncooked dough with bean paste in the middle.

>They think these foods are """candy"""

gravios tail

...

...

Gimme some toasted bread with a bowl of oyster stew. What are these from?

Dragons Crown.

i hope the joke is that many of the things are mislabeled

The fish and pumpkin soup from Twilight Princess. Shit looks amazing.

Fish, pumpkin and goat cheese... It's a god tier soup

>Rice balls are a real thing. They're literally just balls of white rice with some seaweed on one side
wtf did you think they were? magical fantasy rice that grows in the shape of a ball with a snazzy modern haircut?
Also mocchi is stupid but thinking it's "uncooked dough" is equally stupid, it's not meant to be cooked.
>They think these foods are """candy"""
Well mocchi is obviously a sweet/candy when a bunch of sugar is added and while riceballs almost always have savoury or no filling when they do have a sweet filling they're obviously a sweet/candy. It still counts as sugar even if it's covered in rice, stupid fatty, or do you think shit like muffins with as much sugar as a cupcake don't count as sweets?

Thoughts?

You mean the ones made from monsters?
Idk what else could be confusing you.

looks pretty shit desu but that's better than all the pussies who don't even try because they're scared of failing

jeez relax your titties

I'm chill brah, just laughing at retards being retards

like what does someone think a riceball is other than a ball of rice?

the cracker in aristocats

...

What a fucking hero.
You get it for sure pal

In Elder Scrolls the Wood Elves cannot harm their native vegetation and as a result can only eat meat, but because they cannot harm the vegetation they cannot effectively graze large animals.
They have cool things such as pock from pigs that are raised in orchards to flavour the meat as opposed to marinating it, but then there's there main alcoholic drink that is fermented milk. And then there's the ritual cannibalism.

That always annoyed me. They are all archers and you can't make good bows and arrows from dead wood.

Agatha's Feast

that's why they're dirty savages

The food in Spirited Away always looked god-tier to me

No kidding, this game made me want to cook more than anything else. Links enthusiasm is contagious.

>Things you've always wanted to try
Reekfish soup from Zelda Twilight Princess
Most of the dishes from Shokugeki no Souma
Peanut Cheese Bars from EarthBound
Twinkie dogs from UHF
Food that was made by an animal (Tales of Vesperia)

>Food that was made by an animal
You mean like the kind of food in Redwall?

The sweetrolls in Skyrim look pretty tasty, like a crunchy, cinnamon flavored nice thing on a stick.

>Peanut Cheese Bars from EarthBound
gourmetgaming.tumblr.com/post/16886184205/request-earthbound-peanut-cheese-bar-i-was

>cream cheese
I guess that makes sense, but I always imagined a more savory type of cheese, such as cheddar.

I dunno, I'm just generally interested in trying food that was made by non-humans.

Researchers are teaching gorillas weird shit all the time. Maybe it's about time they've got one to start learning how to cook.

Any of the Mirelurk variants from the Fallout Series

Give that man a spoon. It'll probably increase his food intake tenfold.

It bugs me that they are not placed with the same foods as their names.

I'd love to try it

This, too

All of the baked potato variants in rs

Is that even ham?

One of these days I'm going to come up with a (at least somewhat) palatable recipe for Raktajino, I feel like it's more than just motor oil black coffee

Anything from Pikmin 2! Even before I saw Louie's notes after rescuing the fat fuck, I wanted to have a taste of everything that crawled across that world. And not tom mention the stuff hidden within the Breadbug Lair....

A fucking Krabby Patty.

Any of the food from Muramasa

Vanillaware food is so fucking hot

Someone ask for recipe to make Sweetrolls from Skyrim? Here ya go.

The best way to make money early is to cook and sell. Throwing 5 of the same thing into the pot yields some serious early game cash. Also cooking in the game makes superior healing items to just dropping stuff on the hot ground.

Does it look appetizing no am I dying to try it yes

not him but muffins suck, they shouldn't count as sweets

I just remembered that came from someone's blog where they tried to make/invent food from various places from tamriel.

>Things you've always wanted to try
All of the dishes in Restaurant City

Never played skyrim but that looks good af

Anchovies is the ultimate go'za

these

From Snake eater, it's real from Japan but im a poorfag so no buying luxury shit.

This !! If only cooking was as simple as throwing what you want and waiting a bit. (although, sometimes it is)

It tastes very little, don't have any expectations.

bump

All the food in the Tales games. Except mabo curry. Just no.

After seeing so much delicious looking ramen in anime and having only ever tried maruchan I took the initiative to make it one day. I had a batch of tea eggs going so I used those, and some roast pork to slice in. Fresh scallions, firm noodles, salty gingery broth, straw mushrooms. I cried big giant weeb tears. Made it for a while after learning it was so easy. Haven't made it in years though. Think I might have to run to the store.

when i was a kid i always wanted to try the custard on teletubbies. i imagined it tasting like a strawberry flavored bird's custard

I could have sworn I hate a product that looked like and was called tubby custard as a kid once.
Or I just imagined it while eating pudding or some shit.

Did anyone else here play Baten Kaitos? I liked the Magnus cards and how they could store food, plus the game
plays in real time so for example if you had a green banana card it would turn into a bunch of yellow bananas, then turn into brown bananas and eventually a rotten fruit card. Some items would ferment into alcoholic beverages or if you set a meat card on fire it would cook it. AND you could use the good food cards to heal and the bad ones to attack enemies. This game was totally ahead of its time.

RIP Brian, my childhood introduction to food porn

Just found this childhood killer out. Snozzberries are dicks. Literally.

No shit, I've visited Japan and bought a few of these because I thought they were jelly donuts. Funimation trolled me decades after the fact.

Here u go:

*autistic screeching*

>I figured I'd just say hi, with some recycled old ass clips since I kinda disappeared.. I got banned on xbox and I was way too lazy, to get it figured out. In the mean time, I got a job and started sellin pot cuz I'm straight up G like dat and stoof. So I'm not home very often anymore, but I still play search with the homie Mikey every once in a while. If I hit something while I dick around with them I'll upload it. But yahh... Just wanted to upload a video explaining where I went haha. Stay tuned.. or don't... Not promising anything. I barely play at all. And when I do I don't really trickshot... + I don't own MW2.

It was a burger king promotion in 1999. It was the first dessert created for a kids promotion.

My fucking nigga, the custard and the tubby toast were my first food porn memories

goddamn this chicken or whetever it is looks so fucking good

I made Japanese curry after seeing it in all my animes and it was revolting. It's all full of nasty shit like ketchup, apples, peas and carrots.

...

Anything in One Piece.

>1999
Alright I was 9 but now I remember. Thanks user.

Slightly related but my sister and I tried making 'chemical x' from the Powerpuff girls. We knew it wouldn't make little girls but we thought it'd make a bomb ass topping. Just mixing whatever sugar, spices and 'nice' foods together. It was fucking vile so instead we drew XXX and crossbones in it and hid it in the cabinet since we were convinced if we threw it away it would melt through the garbage can and through the floor.

Why the fuck did you add ketchup, apples, and peas?

Japanese curry come in roux blocks, and all you're supposed to add is water, potatoes, onions, carrots, and cubes of beef.

Cartoon chicken legs will always be the best looking food

...

Sam I am,
Sam I am,
yes, it is green eggs and ham.

I also posted these in the wrong thread(silly me):

rip /cock/

They import, dumbass.

>fermented milk
I need examples of fermented alcoholic dairy drinks.

They taste like greasy yet somehow dry rotten shortbread, the different flavored ones just get worse. You're NOT missing anything.

If you buy Vermont Curry it already has apples in it

Don't know why I find it so appealing

Heres the official recipe, they got rid of the fish though. What would be a good fish to add?

Sea salt ice cream isn't fictional though?

But that one is. Also, read the OP.

Then buy a normal curry like Glico or S&B, not some gimmick apple curry.

the cockroach nutrient bars from snowpiercer

I actually asked about this on Veeky Forums nearly 10 years ago, and someone recommended salmon.

I have no idea if it would actually suit the recipe, but the game's fictitious "reekfish" does bear a striking resemblance to sockeye salmon.

Salmon has a pretty assertive flavor. I'm not sure why you would add fish to that recipe, but a mild white fish seems like a better fit.

Interesting that reekfish look like spawning sockeye. Once the fish have spawned they basically rot to death. Spawning streams stink of dead fish.

I'm inclined to agree; white fish tastes better when cooked, and red fish tastes better when raw (such as sushi/sashimi/etc.).

Then again, this is just some soup made by a fictional monster from a video game, so it's no wonder the choice of ingredients is a bit off-kilter.

>Veeky Forums
>nearly ten years ago

Look at this newfag.

Butter beer!

newfag

Apple is a common ingredient in curry though
