Do 40s taste decent, or close to "normal" (shitty) beer? Friend wants to do Edward Fortyhands and I think I can handle the alcohol but I'm worried about the taste making me sick.
Only other "malt beverage" I've had is some 4Loko which was beyond vile.

40s are like $3-3.50 where I live in California. I stopped drinking malt liquor for the most part when I got a job. I can get a 6 pack of good tasting craft beer that's 7-10% abv for $10 and that usually gets me feeling good.

Australia here. We get 40s in the form of apple cider and ginger beer. Typically cost around $7-8.
