Like bread.

Depends. Corn used for cornbread is different from sweetcorn bought in the store. The flavor of sweetcorn is hard to describe, because it really doesn't taste like anything I could think to compare it to. But it's hard to beat an ear of corn grilled in the husk, then peeling it off, putting on a bit of butter, salt, and pepper, and eating it along side a plate of barbecue ribs and ochre on a hot summer night.

Corn tastes like sweetened watered down butter.
