Is it supposed to be shared? I don't like eating someone else's saliva. Plus it has a huge amount of candy that would make me sick on its own. I always make desserts with less sugar than what the recipe calls for, and I like milkshakes because it dilutes the sugar in the ice cream.

I think a lot of this is just done so people can take pictures and share online though, like you'll eat it once and laugh with a bunch of people about it and never eat it again. I wish food science was more important to people, not like making food into foams, but like new engineered foods and cultured meat, instead of stuff like this, but I guess it's not really hurting anyone.

Veeky Forums has been bad for a while, unfortunately. There are still some threads where people actually discuss food, techniques, ask for help, that are worth posting in but more often it's just food related funposting. Cooking has been a big hobby of mine for 15 or so years, if it's that way for you too the cooking sub on reddit is better than Veeky Forums.

If the resturaunt is close enough, take it home, freeze it, and enjoy desserts for the next month or so. I'm underweight, so not even guilty.

1) it's summer
2) it's the first summer after r/the_donald was created and their userbase migrated to /pol/ and then the entire site
3) summer friends who've never used any othet board who went to /pol/ saw it was only shitposting and thought every board must be like that and it would be for teh lulz to raid other boards

Nah I like browsing both. Both websites do different things better. I've been browsing Veeky Forums since it was less than a year old and was against reddit too, but sometimes it's better than Veeky Forums. There is a lot of unnecessary hate on Veeky Forums that can ruin things sometimes.
