How fat actually is the average Veeky Forums dweller?
BMI 22 here

Why not strawpoll.me ???
BMI is not an accurate representation of obesity because it does not differentiate between body fat % and muscle mass %.
That being said, I'm a tub of fat.
My fitness levels are pretty good but I have some chub due to loving food.
BMI is poor, just go for bodyfat %
Those categories are totally fucked. 1 - anorexic; 2 - normal; 3 - overweight and so on.
BMI 24 here
i should lose weight, i won't though
It's good for anyone who isn't a bodybuilder or powerlifter.
This is a shitty poll. People often have a distorted perception of their own fatness and will say they're normal even if 20 pounds or more overweight.
A BMI above 18.5 is not anorexic. You're just fat and surrounded by fatties every day.
I'm at 24.1 BMI. I'm not shredded, but slightly flabby. I'm trying to exercise more but my diet is pretty okay, maybe a tad heavy in carbs, fried food, and meat. I've been losing a little weight since I started doing a little lifting, hiking, and spending time on a treadmill.
I mean I would say that I'm overweight but under BMI I'm "normal".
Carbohydrates from whole/unrefined foods are not in any way bad, if you need the calories. No one ever got morbidly obese eating beans, tubers, and whole grains, and fruit. There isn't enough intestinal surface area for that to happen.
I generally don't need that many calories is the thing. The majority of my hobbies are sedentary,as well as my career.
acording to my bmi i need to lose more than 50lbs to be normal
i'm not in the best shape of my life but i'm losing weight and wear normal person clothes and i haven't weighted 50lbs less than i do now since i was 10 or 11 and i wasn't a fat kid
delusional
post pics
>powerlifter
this is fattie for "muh bench, muh deadlift, cardio kills ur gainz"
It's good for anybody who doesn't exercise whatsoever.
If you go to the gym regularly whatsoever it loses all meaning.
I'm like a 21.
Welcome to the fucking Catalina Wine Mixer.
I have a feeling people are going to be a bit generous on what catagory they think they fit into but this could be interesting nonetheless.
19.5 skinnyfat here.
This is the delusional fatty response to hearing "BMI". The people who have an inaccurate BMI due to muscle mass are less than 0.01% of the population.
16.9 twigs for bones here ready to break.
i'm not delusional. i lost 20 lbs. i want to lose 30 more
50 would be too much but that would be what i need to be normal bmi
According to the BMI scale, I would be obese at 180lb, which is a normal weight for somebody my height to have if they lift anything at all ever.
It's not an accurate system, literally at all.
i dont look morbidly obese like these charts seem to think just fucking fat.
i can fit in a subcompact car without my stomach rubbing the wheel etc and im only 315lbs 6 foot 3
not saying i dont think im fat because i am fat, but not ham planet riding scooter fat like bmi seems to think
i can still walk more than a mile without dying
That's not good. You should move more. Stuff made from wheat tends to be the most energy dense starchy food because of its low water content, so I tend to avoid that when not moving much.
t. tub of fat
Are you 5'4"?
>i'm not fat I'm bulking ;_;
yes
and i do 10 hours of manual labor a day for money
who /skeleton/ here
Skelly attempting to ascend to a bulkier plane.
28, but that's down from 36+ a year ago.
I went from a BMI of 26.4 to 23.1 in the past 6ish months @ a 25lb loss.
BMI is weird, I was really fat looking but barely into the overweight category. I think that's mostly due to aesthetics of where your weight is stored, I was a midsection guy.
Now I'm a little further into the normal range than I was into the overweight category, and I think my body looks worse lol. I look ok with clothes on, but I look deflated under them. I still look chubby though, I guess I need to get down to like a 20 and/or lift weights
23 here. Same height weight and height since I about 15 (I'm 29). 5'10 155
Not that guy, but I have a BMI of 26 and a 12% BF. I'm a borderline fatty on paper. Anyone who's spent more than 6 months lifting weights can easily be an outlier on the BMI charts.
>implying the average Veeky Forums fastfood poster exercises
¿eres mexicano?
>Anyone who's spent more than 6 months lifting weights
And how many people do you think have spent more than 6 months lifting weights?
I'll give you a hint: it's a very, very, very tiny segment of the population.
At my highschool, at least half the kids were on sports teams (senior year PE only had like 5 kids cause everyone else was exempt due to varsity sports) and they all lifted. I think you underestimate how athletic the average person is.
lol
fuck off and come back to estimate when you have gotten out of high school
>highschool kids posting on Veeky Forums
it really is summer isn't it
Notice the past tense dumbass? I used highschool since that's basically the only time in life you know when random people lift without asking them. I estimate that people didn't magically forget how a weight bar works after graduation.
Do you not know what past tense verbs indicate?
alright, sorry. I didn't notice you were talking about """""senior""""" year PE.
congrats on graduating, kiddo.
>Anybody who references time spent in high school must still be in it or a recent grad
I understsand that you're probably very proud of being a college sophmore or whatever, but you do realize real grownups sometimes talk about when they were in high shool, right?
>300 lbs
>Not a planet
Huhhhhhhh
You tell me
You know what, I don't know. I don't think I'm all that special though. My point, in defense of the one guy's argument up there, is that BMI is a little inaccurate for serious amateur athletic types. Body fat percentage is where it's at. People fucking know when they're being delusional about themselves or not. You can't tell if someone on the internet is lying unless they're giving you some obviously ridiculous numbers.
>tfw overweight according to BMI because too swole to control
yikes man
>tfw 17.5 twig
>this is the body of a young man somewhere
embarrassing
29.2 but I'm dropping weight. I also lift though so BMI isn't the most accurate thing in the world.
32.3, just puts me by a margin into obese category but I'm currently on a diet and have been losing approx 1kg/2lbs per week consistently for the last 5 weeks.
Providing I keep doing what I'm doing I should be down back into the overweight category in no time
Here's another for the haters, one month ago
What the fuck is wrong with your chest
It's fat and small, dummy, still bench 2pl8 for reps tho
Do you have autism?
No I train strength and like to eat
My man

Lol good one, I can pull 385 squat 300 and ohp 165 too I do look like garbage tho I'll admit that, I'll cut once I hit 4pl8 pull and 3pl8 squat
>and im only 315lbs
>People often have a distorted perception of their own fatness
This.
I do as well, but I think I'm still at the 36 bmi I was before losing weight instead of the ~27 muh doctor measured me at. 6'5, 240lbs, said I shouldn't go below 200, but I'm thinking that's bs.
Not him but I can't remember the last time someone mentioned their high school. You don't have to get all defensive because someone pointed out you're young.
105 lbs
5'1
I tend to fall under the normal category.
when they're not forced into exercise people tend to get very lazy
>he fell for the starting strength meme
Yep, I've tried a few routines but they're mostly all power based. The next time I'll bulk I'll do Lyles generic bulking, maybe I'll be aesthetic one day

Great post, thanks!
Edit: enjoy the Gold, stranger!
>they all lifted, therefore they are all Mr Olympia
that doesn't mean anything, everyone "lifts". I "lift" because I do 12x hours of strenuous cardio every week and it's all I can do not to look like a complete skellington. my mom "lifts" and she was born in the 1940s, she uses small dummbells and bumper plates and lifts under strict geriatric PT supervision. my fat alcoholic coworker "lifts" and he's wider than he is tall, he's developing retard strength so that when he gets into his final drunken blackout bar fight or whatever, he can commit involuntary manslaughter before being tazed several times and dying from cardiac arrest.
I think you underestimate the effect of diet and in particular recombinant bovine growth hormones in your high school's varsity program.

40+ here
You're a fellow of large stature
try having a fuck heug frame and being over 6 foot 3 you manlet. even when i was a skinny fuck playing sports in high school i was still 235 lbs.
BMI 42
Wew I'm roughly BMI of 18 because my standards for food are too high and I hate myself.
31.5
And your age, if you will my large fellow
UUUU
I'm underweight, but I'm not anorexic or anything. 5'5, 95 lbs. It says I'm underweight but I have a really small bone structure. Pants size 0, shirt size XS. I am a ballet dancer, however. I eat roughly 3,000 cal. a day because I exercise almost every day and it's hard for me to gain weight.
5'10' 230 lbs fat fuck but used to weigh 260 3 months ago. Genuinely big boned too, but also fat. Working on it.
25.7 bmi, so just borderline overweight, i guess.
5'9", 185lbs
I eat a lot but also ride my bike a lot so I've been around the same weight for ages.
22
I look and feel chubby though
I am to the left of normal
7'8" 67lbs all muscle
>tfw coworkers staged an intervention because they thought I was anorexic at a 22 BMI
Used to have a BMI of 40.7 and now my BMI is a 21.9. I look really skinny/twinky with clothes on because I wear size small shirts and waist 28 pants but I still look skinny-fat. My diet is pretty much 90% carbs though so I guess it makes sense.
23
Gained 20 pounds over the last six months, currently trying to lose 25~
disgusting
congrats on the weight loss! how'd you do it?
