Why do Energy Drinks always look like they where designed by a Persian night club owner? Isn't there a sip for the sophisticated adult?

Too small a market. For the most part the demographics that drink energy drinks aren't worried about looking sophisticated.

Also I don't think there's really a 'good' way to class up a can of caffeine and syrup.

It's more that the user base on the website as a whole skyrocketed in the past 6 months which lead to an increase in traffic across all boards, seeing this trend marketers decided to advertise across all relevant boards (sips is a Veeky Forums "meme") and once they reach saturation or when the majority of users on a board become aware of the marketing and spam bots and start deleting the threads immediately then the marketers move on to the next board.
However I'm starting to get the suspicion that the marketers have become so brazen lately is because the site doesn't have nearly enough ad revenue and Hiroshi struck a deal with major advertisers to not delete marketing threads immediately
