We're not, dummy. French food is wonderful. I go to local French restaurants at least one every 2 weeks, and one of them is where I traditionally spend certain special occasions.

You've been memed. French food is quite simple in general, if you're thinking of haute cuisine it's as if you were comparing driving a F1 and a fiat. They're both cars, but one is used everyday by all sorts of people, while the other is a niche keeping richfags entertained.

When we're making food it generally takes between 10 and 40 minutes, most of which is leaving shit getting cooked alone in the pan or the oven.

American's totally love and admire french food. Which is a tragedy because apart from LA, no other region has much French influence. American food culture is English, German and to a lesser extent Italian and Mexican (as understood through the lens of English and German cuisine, hence the emphasis on meat and cheese). But none of these cuisines are held in any regard compared to French. This is partly why the food culture in large swathes of the country sucks. The stuff people cook at home or even go out to eat on a regular basis has no connection to the food the admire. Which means most home and restaurant cooking is done with an inherent inferiority complex.
