Winn Dixie is garbage compared to Publix

I grew up in florida with Publix my whole life. this is all you need to know.

Their subs are better than any sub place around.

and thier publix brand Chocolate Chip cookies are goat tier. lots of chocolate, chewy, i grew up on them and they are good. cant eat them anymore tho, im an adult now.

I never buy groceries, but i get the hot wing meal from the deli quite often

The dirtiest Publix I've ever been too was about as clean as the nicest grocery store where I live.

Overpriced. Visit there every time I see my dad down in Florida and I don't know why they shop there. I guess because it's close. Is it cheaper than Winn Dixie? There's one right nextdoor, but they never go there.

Winn Dixie is shit for meat, other stuff is ok. But really, the meat is like discount grocery shit. Publix is the best all around option. Last week they had 6 dollar tendie subs, shiiiet.

where the hell are you where you still have winn dixie? the ones in my area died out over a decade ago.

publix is that gas. they're hella close, deliver groceries on the cheap and do crazy bogo deals all the time. employees there are awesome. they're like the chick fil a of supermarkets. i think the management has more to do with it than anything.

I've worked with managers that shitpost on Veeky Forums, one from /m/, the other /k/ and /v/, so I can't help but think it.

IIRC (my pot dealer was a manager there) Their screening/interview is noticeably better so even if you get get black employees they aren't the obnoxious ones. They actually have incentives for the employees to provide good service. Stock options/quarterly bonuses etc. Having been in a college town I've actually noticed that a lot of the people who graduate actually stay with Publix. Not sure if that's because it's a nice place to work or because of dismal prospects. On the other hand, some people say it's slightly "cultish"

i forgot about that. it's pretty sweet to see an entry level job like that provide those kinds of benefits.

Winn Dixie is garbage

They have good sandwiches and they don't hassle you if you try to return anything. But the Publix near me regularly sells spoiled meat "on sale" and their produce isn't always good especially for what it costs. I don't know if every Publix is like that but whenever I bought Publix brand chicken it smelled off, and I bought a steak that was on sale which tasted sour after being cooked.

It always looked okay. I could tell the chicken was off just by smell but the steak smelled okay before cooking. Never had a problem with their pork or name brand chicken. They might sell more pork so it doesn't sit around long enough to go bad, and the name brand chicken might have more strict guidelines of when they have to throw it away compared to management telling the butchers to repackage old Publix brand meat and put it on sale.

the deli is really good quality. Better than most grocery stores unless you go to whole foods. They use boars head which is a pretty good product.

They're pretty much the official church of Florida. I worked there for like 3 days while in college, so that was nice.

Also I love it, and I really think the Publix circlejerk is justified. Idk who tf actually believes their deli is shit, they have a fire ass deli, fresh baked desserts and bread every day, fresh pre-made sandwiches and salads, quality meat, etc. etc. I ate like 4 chicken tender subs last week because sale.

I went like 2 months ago for the first time in years just to sit in line while my friend returned something and the first brochure I picked up was some Mexican banks advert for Jose and Raul to send their money back to Mexico through Walmarts direct deposite scheme. I'm a tight ass conservative so I sat in line saying "what the fuck is this shit?" Also there was literally a basketball-shaped mouthbreather in a mobility scooter behind me inching closer and closer and seeing the stereotype manifest made me want to shower

Everything is cheaper and the produce is just as good as what's sold at Publix. Once in a while I'll see the kind of people you're talking about but not that often, and I try not to judge anyway. Some of the cashiers are nice. I was in one of the express lines without the conveyor belts, and when the cashier noticed I was making sure everything was close for her to grab to ring up she thanked me. She said most people didn't care about making her reach for things and ignored her. She had a nice voice.

Also I once saw someone shopping there who had an obvious mental handicap. He didn't have enough money to pay for all of his food but I was able to help him out. If I wasn't there that day maybe nobody would've helped him. Not everyone who shops there is a degenerate and you shouldn't dislike someone for being poor.

Tbh that sounds nothing like the Walmarts near me (big city in Florida). The Walmarts here are crime hotspots and places to people-watch for your garden variety of degenerates. Shuhqueesha is usually working the register and cracking a smile would be tantamount to breaking a nail.

This is how it is at all Publix stores. And there are none where I live, I only went to one when I was in Orlando last year. My brother was fucking around and pushed a cart across the line to see if it's true and it worked and he then had to drag the thing back to the front if the store.
