I'm still bitter about the existence of the "best" fish & chips shop in my city that only offers white vinegar. Staff gave me an annoyed look when I asked for malt vinegar and told me they don't have it. Fuck you, Anchor Fish & Chips.

Most places have malt flavouring here in the uk because vinegar contains alcohol and muslims won't go to a fish and chip shop if it has vinegar. The shops do it to increase sales even though it makes them assholes to a purist.

Luckily i live down the road from one of the UKs best fish and chip shops and they don't play those games.

Last New Year's Eve I met out with online friends and the guy hosting us took us to an American style diner. Pretty good shit with an affordable price, but the thing that caught my attention the most was the small cup of sour creme that I dipped a curly fry into. I immediately fell in love with sour cream. I'll take it over ketchup anyday now, if only I could find it in stores.

Although really good chips don't need ketchup. They should be crispy outside and still soft and moist inside, with the fish also retaining plenty of moisture.
