If you care about the environment you'd just reuse the same paper plate and rinse with water. Five cent plate needs to be cut, processed, dyed, packaged and shipped. Then you bin it, so it's getting hauled from there, multiple times a year.
It's wasteful, lazy, costs more (moot point) and you're making excuses for being a slob and helping destroy the planet a little faster. Do you leave lights on in your house too because it "takes more power to turn them back on" as well?
Just own it, say "yeah I cbf washing, lol" instead of pretending like you are some saint .
