Because they allow chickens to be raised in shitty conditions. If it werent for antibiotics and growth hormones farmers would be forced to let them see the light of day and move around. Also chickens are raised cheaply and you go get out what you put in - being cheap raising chicken leads to terrible tasting food. And tbf no one wants to eat arsenic.
