My veggie soup with a twist

well, the most traditional version is freshly when when the soup, you don't put it in the soup until the soup is not ready, you cook it separately, you can dry the leftover pasta and use it later or you can buy dried pasta too

there are different versions of this dish, in some regions they don't put pasta in it at all, they eat it with bread or nothing, just the soup and the meat

in my opinion the pasta version is superior, but it's an evergreen subject of arguments between people from different regions

Lobster bisque; It was JFK's favorite food. The recipe his chef used was:

-(x6) 1Lb. live Maine Lobsters, rinsed
-Salt
-2 sticks butter, softened
-1 ½ cups medium-dry or cream sherry
-6 cups milk
-2 cups heavy cream
-Pinch cayenne
-1-2 pinches paprika
-Freshly ground black pepper
-½ tsp. fresh lemon juice
-Leaves from 2 sprigs of parsley, cut into thin strips

Boil a large pot of salted water. Place the lobsters into the boiling water, and cook for 5 minutes. Remove the lobsters from the boiling water and transfer them to a large bowl filled with ice water to cool. When the lobsters are cool enough to handle, remove the tail and claw meat, and coarsely chop. Hold on to the shells. Tightly cover the meat and refrigerate.

In a Dutch oven, melt a stick of butter over medium-high heat. Add the shells and cook, stirring, until they turn bright red (usually in 2 to 3 minutes). Add 1 cup of the Sherry and bring the mixture to a boil. Cook until reduced by half (usually about 3 minutes). Add the milk, cream, paprika, salt, and pepper, and return to a boil. Once the mixture has reached a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until it is slightly thickened (usually15 to 20 minutes). Remove from the heat and let it cool. Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight for the flavors to fully develop.

Remove milk and shell mixture from the refrigerator and strain it into a container through a fine mesh strainer, setting aside the portion caught in the strainer. In a large, pot, melt the remaining stick of butter over medium-high heat. Add chopped lobster meat and cook, stirring, until the meat is lightly colored (usually 2 to 3 minutes). Add the remaining 1/2 cup of Sherry and turn the heat up to high. Cook while stirring, to deglaze the pan, until the mixture is reduced by half. Add the strained milk mixture and bring to a low boil. Simmer and stir until the stew is heated through.

Remove the stew from the heat and season to taste.

Original for sure!
Never tried chicken mulligatawny to be fair.

one of my faves was Ribolita, "reboiled", cabbage soup with bread slices and i think beans. very hearty.

>roasted cauliflour (roast until deeply browned and fully cooked)
>plenty of butter
>cream/whole milk (chicken stock if it's too hot outside for such a heavy soup)
>Caramelized onions
>salt and pepper
>Rosemary infused olive oil

Just puree all the ingredients in the correct proportion (not gonna tell ya, tee hee) and you have a wonderful soup. It's like crack.

>no minestrone

Whatsa matta you face, huh!?!?

Soon my friend, soon. The heathen pastalovers shall be struck down by our rightous bogrács of vengeance for their sins. O Lord, spare us of miscreants who sully their soups with floury bits but deliver unto us moar of that sweet ikra and haltej!

Mexican soups. Mexican chicken soup with a side of steaming corn tortillas and a bowl of Mexican rice and limes to squirt in is GOAT. Also, the beef variety and albondigas (meatball soup). Mendo for honorable mention if you're adventurous.

Sweet potato and chili is nice

That first soup of the day

Tom Kha Gai

Thai coconut chicken soup.

So good, especially with lots of those cute little mushrooms in there.

Bisques are shellfish soups thickened with rice. So get out of here with your tomato, mushroom, and butternut squash "bisques".

Potato leek this time of year is always great.

>boiling live lobsters

I'm assuming they mean tomato/mushroom soup with cream?

Coconut milk in soup is 10/10, especially when there's also chilli

Looks goddamn beautiful. Would devour 9/10

Lentil

Don't worry user, they die before you eat them!

I seent it too

Lentil

Yes but does it hurt.

Only if you eat the shells! The meat is very tender!

butternut squash or some kinda shellfish based soup.

Yes but does it hurt the lobster when you boil it.

Step aside
Salmorejo coming through

I don't think the lobster cares if the water is boiled?? Water doesn't have feelings.

I'm surprised someone posted the correct answer instead of canned vegan bullshit options

Never ate that but I see cilantro so I'll go with that one
