It actually is pretty similar, though generally rounder shapes are more efficient volume/surface area

heh, I grew up in a city called Artesia, and it had notoriously bad tap water.
Usually it was just a sort of "off" flavor that flavor-aid could mask, but a couple of times it actually ran brown and reeked of poo.

Another childhood memory from the same town was some kind of rupture or backup or something at an intersection near our house, with water bubbling up from beneath a manhole cover and carrying turds and wads of toilet paper down the road.

Today this town is most famous for its "Little India" collection of stores and restaurants. What an amazing coincidence, huh?

Depending where you live and how your water is treated your tap water might be safe to drink but can still have some bad taste.
The water where i live is fine but the filter improves the taste of the water.

You can test this for yourself by buying some bottled filtered water and compare it with a glass of water from your tap.

These things are cheap and efficient. Alex Jones would sell expensive magical pills or something.
