MRE General

whats you're favorite food brick?

pbj

lemon poppy seed pound cake

Beef raviolis.
Especially if it has the little Tabasco bottle in it.

I've never had a MRE before.
I love watching Steve tho

They've been putting it in a packet rather than the little bottle now.

Always the cheese spread.
This is from a bong ORP not an MRE but it's strangely compelling.

pretty much any of them are good.
the tuna one is pretty hardcore, skip the mayo.

This is some bullshit.

>that one guy in your company that likes the egg MREs
>that one guy in your company that doesn't like sweets and gives it away to the closest person
>that one guy in your company that hoards jalapeno cheese spread like currency
>that one guy in your company always doing trades with the Brits

how do they compare to shit like this

Former marine

Yes if forced to choose between vege omelette and this I will gladly eat the crayons

> that one guy who used the brown bag as a bowl
>that one guy who ratfucks all the MRE's for the snacks
>the poor bastard who drank the diary shakes

I used the water from my heater in my cappuccino for 2 years before I read the DO NOT DRINK on the side of it. Such is life in the field with 3/2

Why eat this shit unless you're deployed or in a FEMA refugee camp?

I have a bud that's former military that loves these

Cheese tortellini

Anyone else notice the severe lack of candy in recent years? They used to be in all the meals

This beef rav or chili

>the poor bastard who drank the diary shakes

FARTY McGEE

I finally cracked and bought some MREs. Got a french one and a british one and let me tell you, the french cheese is fucking god tier compared to the american cheese spread.

They're probably cutting back because the average MRE has like 200 fucking grams of sugar in it all told

>this user's liver and kidneys
RIP

How long are these legitimately edible for? I've heard and read 10 years if kept in the right conditions and I've also heard of people eating after 15 years.

At what point do they spoil even under the ideal conditions?

the cheese spoils first
then anything with nuts
then things with meat
then the breads
anything that's just noodles, sauce, and oil will last as long as the seal holds up

it really depends on the contents but it's pretty obvious if they're bad

so what lasts longer, the sealed bag MREs or canned food?

the ones sealed in those metal pouches (the olive drab ones not the brown ones) will last a long time and are pretty much on the same level as something in a can, it's sealed inside of metal that is bonded to itself
it will last as long as the seal holds

Going to try this for lunch.
Instructions say either boil for 8 minutes or use the flameless heater.

...

you're gonna wanna boil it at least 10 minutes

>not drinking the dairy shakes
they were the best part, I dont know why people keep shitting on them

because if you drink more than two a day and don't drink any water then you stop shitting

thats everything from every MRE though

steve ate some that were frozen over 15 years and they were still good

not just by his standards either
