t. Flyover
Next time your on the coast try some snapper.
>not liking cod
maybe you should go back to your dumb kindergarden you wankster ass toddler
>never eaten good blackened catfish
>He's never had Patagonian toothfish, aka Chilean sea bass
You cant grill cod and it tastes like shit when baked
>Catfish
>Good
try again
>catfish
Hi MS! Any other pearls of wisdom you wish to impart other than those surrounding your sister's oyster?
my man, have you not had swordfish?
How do you make cod not bland as fuck without >deepfrying?
You can at least pan-fry similar fish like tilapia and catfish with a variety of spices. Whenever I do the same for cod I just wish I'd rather have other fish.
You can't
You can try to use a foil packet and pan fry in that with spices and shit, but its still bland and too much work
>cornmeal dusted and fried bayou cats
>Specs with the meuniere sauce
>trout almandine
Louisiana is truly blessed
In Mexico we cook it in a stew with tomato, garlic, olives and potato. It's traditionally a Christmas meal. I like it, and it's definitely not bland, but some people don't enjoy it that much.
>literally only way to make it good
>he hasn't had korean cod soup
Enjoy all those mercury

Eating any fish caught in Alaska while you're in Alaska > Anything else.
Cod is great in the oven with cream, white winen diced shallots and herbs over mashed potatoes
Why hasn't anyone even listed mackeral? It should be near the top on anyone's list.
So poach it, steam it, panfry it, blacken it, smoke it, roast it, d a million other things to it you dingus. The only thing you're convincing us of is the poverty of your imagination.
I used to eat a lot of Mackeral growing up. It's ok but it shouldn't be on the top.
Because all the people patrician enough to love mackerel have no interest in making a stupid top ten list
tuna = salmon (tuna better raw, salmon better cooked) > sea bass > lake perch > rainbow/spotted trout > catfish > flounder > ocean perch > cod >> haddock >>>>> tilapia
>he's never had good spicy catfish
People who don't like catfish just plain dont have access to good catfish
>haddock that low
>haddock lower than fucking cod
>salmon is better cooked
what IS this nonsense taste?
>>salmon is better cooked
I meant raw tuna > raw salmon, cooked salmon > cooked tuna
Salmon is better cooked than raw though. It's ridiculously moist and meaty
>I meant raw tuna > raw salmon, cooked salmon > cooked tuna
carry on then
>Salmon is better cooked than raw
you're entitled to your opinion but know that your opinion is kind of pleb
It's not pleb at all. Salmon sears beautifully and the flavour comes through a lot more fully when the oils render.
Halibut is the best
I love mackerel. I fish it myself in the summer. They swim in schools (?) and bite no matter what.
Walleye > salmon > everything else
Skipjack>>>all
haddock is good as hell
>Tuna
>Salmon
>Mackerel
>Herring
>Haddock
>Cod
>Rainbow Trout
>Halibut
Haven't tried snapper but we're a fishing country and I grew up in a fishing village. Fresh fish is a completely different thing to store-bought and people are far too removed from what good fish really is
Halibut would be higher but it's not common here and Bass is imported and shit
You're both wrong. Salmon is best smoked and/or light cured
Pretty much all fish apart from catfish is good, and catfish is at least palatable if done well.
As for really mild fresh water white fish, it’s the batter that makes it.
>As for really mild fresh water white fish, it’s the batter that makes it.
yeah I can't stand Tilapia but cheap chinese places deep fry it whole and I could eat THAT everyday
What's a good whitefish that has a lot of flavor? I had some really shitty bland as fuck fish and chips last night that made me want to make my own
haddock is good, i've always liked buffalo
Halibut is bursting with flavour.
You clearly have never had or know how to make decent cod.
>grill
Oh jesus you're one of those. Stop acting like grilling is the best way to cook. It works for some things, is shitty for others. Just like every other method of cooking.
thats a big fish
stop
Fine I will.
For you
Also anyone who doesn't put Tuna at the top of their fish list doesn't know anything about fish
Tuna is pretty eh. I have a good ahi every month or so, but I prefer many to it.
I only like haddock? but that a big Halibut
>Ranks fish.
>Has three types on list.
Kys.
