Are Child Prodigies Real?

How the fuck would a pathetic kid study what i can hardly understand in my twenties when he is 5 are they just trolls out of there stupid over loving parents ?
and if that was true i would not be impressed when there is already an adult kid of them rolling the world right now !

Are you seriously butt hurt because you aren't smarter than a 5 year old?

5 is way too young. but if you get started on a subject really young (around 4-5) and stick with it, AND if you have expert advise available, you can easily reach expert level at a tender age of 13years of something.

but it's not "talent" or some bullshit, just continued hard work.
remember, genius is 99% hard work

NO

Yeah but at least you got laid, right?

lair

All child prodigies are time travellers.

kek "smart" nobody is smart everone us dumm as fuck

yeah it's all a secret troll OP everyone in the world is dumber than you especially the people with more promise

Yes but I have a theory that they were put in an environment such that things "clicked" with them and normal people don't usually access to that. Now that just sounds like I'm salty and I kind of am but I feel like my theory has merit.
I was a candidate for being 'gifted' and part of the test was to solve some next level shit but I had never seen that kinda shit before so how could I solve it?
Now if a kid is just so mad tenacious that they turn out gifted that's really something special.

kek

why are you sarcastic?
do you even know that there is actual probability that its true?

He was also a religious zealot.

Human brain isn't even funny developed until mid 20's. Some outliers are pretty smart when they are young.

but he fapped a lot

why tha fq

prodigious children are a bless for humanity they consume little resources and generate great profits. They are the real thing user, but there is also much fairy tale and a lot of fakes. They are smarter than us and that is all.

fuck my life

>Daily reminder
you have to go back

haha

>I have a theory
No, you don't even know what "theory" means, fgt pls

no

>child prodigy
Might be a thing. My guess is they have fantastic memories but lack the nuance of an older person. And they're so rare why even think about them?

cus i hate to see someone better than me

Parents abuse their kids if they don't study. It works because children naturally want the support of their parents.,

top kek

child prodigies are the true proof of reincarnation. they just remember what they knew in their past lives. the same with talented people in the arts. same reason you cant teach the untalented to be talented, because its something you carry with you epigenetically, you cant learn shit in fact.

you have to go back

That's no proof. It's just another hypothesis you can make out of it. An unlikely one.

There's always going to be people smarter than you, and everyone feels just as annoyed about it. But being smart is in the nothing but a thing you can help society with. If you think about it a little, it's clear all this competitive attitude is just the need to feel comfortable and needed in society. But it's stupid in our context. It's like being angry with your coworker cause he works overtime and are jealous his boss likes him more, instead of just working for yourself and enjoying your time, learning as much as you can for trying to understand the world as prior to trying to please people around you (whom you must please to survive but the point is to not naively become a slave)

9 yo: Tao scored a 760 in SAT math section and attended university-level math courses

10yo: youngest participant to date in the IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad)

11yo won a bronze medal in IMO
12yo won a silver medal in IMO
13yo won a gold medal in IMO

14yo: Tao attended the MIT's Research Science Institute

15yo: Published his 1st research paper.

16yo: Tao received his bachelor's and master's degrees at the age of 16 from Flinders University and he won a Fulbright Scholarship to undertake postgraduate study in the United States.

From 16 to 21yo, Tao was a graduate student in Math at Princeton University

21yo received Math PhD at Princeton University and joined the faculty of the UCLA

24yo promoted to full professor at UCLA and remains the youngest person ever appointed to that rank by the institution.

This guy knows what's up

This ephebi/pedo- phobia sentiment is strong in OP here. Child prodigies are a thing. Look at Mozart and Beethoven.

Daily reminder: Grade years (K-12) were a German invention. It was introduced to the US in the 1860s. Back then, 10 year olds were on the same academic level as seventeen year-olds. 150 years ago, a fourth-grader (as we would call them now) could recite Shakespeare, know at least a quarter of the Bible, and do simple algebra.

We need to stop using age as an intelligence gauge. I feel this is done subconsciously out of fear of being obselete/outperformed by one's juniors.

They mean the emotional parts, not the intellectual parts. Frontal lobes is where judgement (situational awareness) is stored. Not intellect. But, as usual, people think the brain is all about intellect.

A toddler can learn Japanese if immersed in it, whereas an adult weeboo can barely learn a dinner menu over the course of a decade. Theres a difference in immersion and focus. Most of Algebra can be learned from twelve 25 minute khan academy videos. Some kids watch seasons 1-9 of ninja turtles in a weekend, some watch Khan academy. It's a different focus. It's not like any topic is very time consuming, it's just that a college age kid is going to get bored if its more than a few hours a week on any one topic. Some kids can focus longer, so they learn faster.

>works in a lab where two researchers are in different secret organizations that both want to conquer the world
God, 0 was a mistake.

Also there are hundreds of topics you are learning all the time, if you focus on one boring topic instead you'll be a "prodigy" too. Prodigy is only in a narrow topic, they're still dumb kids at every other topic.

It's not so much that these kids are so much smarter than every one.

It's that our parents and educators are so fucking terrible at the job of educating.

Children have amazing learning capabilities. Of course kids will be dumb as fuck when exposed to the children reading material and education as opposed to education content.

Finally! Someone who gets it. Western society has this view that if you're under 25, you're not a human being. That every thing you think, say, feel, like, want is WRONG. If a teen jacks off to porn, he's called "dumb." But, when a middle-aged man ogles at college girls, he's "alright." Even though the adult world is a shithole of war, adultery, cheating, etc, we excuse it as normal because "adulthood is godhood, fuck the children."

I never understood why they made another one. Steins Gate is great as it is, with memorable characters and a complete story, and from what I hear the second game doesn't even expand upon the plot.

Yes they are. The reality is that science isn't that complicated if you properly use the knowledge and resources gathered by your predecessors. Those kids don't know how to overcomplicate their lives because they are so young and learn with sheer simplicity thanks to their abundant neuroplasticity.

I'd vote babies into parliament if they were trained to be politicians desu.

Teachers aren't allowed to teach their mind. In America teachers are regulated by helicopter parents who keep them in line, and quotas to keep them out of dawdling. Teachers are not given room to teach children to become adults by uneducated control freaks in power.

...

nice point

WOW what a wizard

It's pretty common knowledge if you live anywhere that has some historical clout. Schooling used to be performance based, not just age based.
