Explain to me why this would not solve all energy problems

...

he called it a pressure pad, not a generator
we're about 2 hours from someone saying we could put a giant sterling engine into the earth to produce energy
fucking fagets

Well that makes sense. It'd be an ambient energy harvester. But how much does pressure at the bottom of the ocean really fluctuate?

fpbp

holy shit this can't be real. how the fuck can pressure exert force from below if it's on the bottom of the ocean retard

>The only actual problem is logistics. The energy needs to be better used. The population needs to be spread out more. The climate needs to even out. The food needs to be distributed properly. See, all problems with logistics.

The best logistical solution to all those problems would be to reduce the human population by 75%.

this

>pad is pressed
>it stays pressed forever
Whoa

You can actually use sea water flowing into sub-sea level places to generate GW-tier capacity but nobody can be fucked to do it.

Tell me why this wouldn't work.

It would probably work. I don't think it can deliver a big enough amount of energy to justify constructing it though. There are other easier ways to get energy out of a temperature difference, like a heat pump. I don't think sea water has that big of a difference between surface and deep water though, there are better options for getting energy from the sun.
