Why do people dislike the smell of others?
Why do people sometimes like the smell of certain others?
This is seriously driving me nuts. I can't find any good science on this -- just a bunch of, HuffPo-level articles.

I remember hearing that one's perception of bodily odors differs depending on whether two individuals have compatible immune systems for the creation of healthy offspring.

It's weird because animals also do that. Dogs, for example, smell their poop after they're done, just like we smell our hands when we scratch our asses/crotches/etc.

I've heard that too, but then why do people like their own smells? The whole point of liking others' smells is to diversify the immune system, apparently.
