Right now there is no cost as an individual for stating "IQ is stupid". It is a nice virtue signal and majority of people have average IQ. For selfish reasons it makes sense and because of the leftist hold might as well to incur as little personal suffering as possible.

Majority of people will never deal with or encounter the results of the problems associated. Having a family member or friend murdered by someone low IQ is still fairly low odds. Also not many people legitimately care about societal progress unless it benefits themselves.

When the incentives begin to align around a selfish individual; aka using technology to increase the IQ and health of their own child or a closely related child. At this point they will go through with it.
