What is energy

>In your opinion?
>Go wild!

No really, this confuses me and it's a big unanswered question

Nothing. There's no definition for it, just like mass.

motion and the potential to cause motion

Whatever the soul is made of.

Energy is pure. Untainted and unrestrained it is the difference between absolute zero and the speed of light.

Bogged down by certain particles, energy is mass. By itself, energy is the connection between those particles.

I'm gonna say [math]MC^2[/math]

Energy=[(G*d)^1/2]hbar, Sixth Seal

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The Seven Seals of Light

1) c^1 = Power / Force
2) c^2 = Energy / Mass
3) c^3 = Gravity * Mass Flow Rate
4) c^4 = Gravity * Force
5) c^5 = Gravity * Power
6) c^6 = ?
7) c^7 = ?

David Koresh

broken up matter

No sorry their (NIST) hbar is off. Davidians united QM & GR but they (NIST) have not yet, so we Davidians are forced to use Planck constant (h). Therefore: the Energy (E) of a photon is directly proportional to its frequency (f) which is the Square root of the Newtonian constant of gravitation (G) times the photon density (d). This gives rise to the Davidians equation E=h[(G*d)^1/2] from the Max Planck equation E=hf.

E=hf
E=h[(G*d)^1/2]

Whereas: E is the energy of the photon. h is the Planck constant. f is the frequency of the radiation. G is the Newtonian constant of gravitation. d is the density of the photon. ^1/2 is the square root thereof.

Energy is ability to do work.

All waves are information

If force is the cause of motion, then energy is the effect of a force.

Isn't mass the drag that is created by quantum particles through the higgs field?

Collective noun for motion

No, you can have mass without the Higgs interaction. A system of two non-colinear massless particles itself has mass.

To our best knowledge, the fundamental laws of physics do not change over time. In other words, physical laws admit time translational symmetry. Noethers theorem proves that for every symmetry there is a conserved quantity. We call this quantity energy.

I like to think of conservation of energy not a law, but rather as a definition - energy is that what is conserved throughout time. After all, it would be such a useless concept, if it could not be utilized in the exact manner and amount as we would expect at a later time.

>energy is that what is conserved throughout time
Almost. Energy conservation is a result of time-translation symmetry. Anything conserved quantity A is "conserved throughout time" by the definition of "conserved": dA/dt = 0.

Energy is the currency of the Universe.

It wouldn't be wrong(albeit kind of naive) to call energy "the quantity of motion" and imo actually makes it a bit more intuitive to understand why energy/momentum is conserved

OP just in case you were wondering, this is the actual answer

>Energy is ability to do work.

E=hf
E=mc^2
E=h[(G*d)^1/2]

Good work!

Close, though it's more subtle. Charge is conserved with time but it's not considered energy.

it's like when you make a universe from scratch
it's a given you gonna have to shift some values around
energy one of those

A "desire" to return to a base "rest" state

E=mc^2

The amount of energy available to an atom from the aether is dependent upon its mass and velocity of wave propagation squared. This is also known as zero point energy.

Charge conservation is a result of gauge symmetries, not time translation symmetry.

1) E=hf
2) E=mc^2
3) E=h[(G*d)^1/2]

Well no wonder #3 is not in any Physics text,
David Koresh and the Davidians discovered it.

Now we know.

The quantity that's invariant under time transformations.

E=h[(G*d)^1/2] - *Davidians 1993*
E=mc^2 - *Einstein 1905*
E=hf - *Planck 1899*

Well done, Davidians, well done.

whatever energy is, this isn’t it

So that's why Photons act like
Waves and act like Particles.

The best way to think of energy (kinetic) is as the negative of potential energy. Potential energy is a property that all particles/rigid bodies/non rigid bodies have. In any conservative system, the force on an object is the negative if the gradient of the potential. E =mc^2 is very special case of a more elegant equation:
E^2=p^2c^2+m^2c^4.

I feel you. This board has gone to complete shit.

Aether theory is nonsense.

Energy is a number. A conserved quantity. A useful tool to simplify math by allowing you to apply that constraint, allowing you to make accurate predictions of the evolution of a system without accounting for the momentum of every single particle in that system.

It's all that mostly, and maybe - just maybe - it could also be a SMALL HINT of the deeper workings of the universe. The fundamental processes of the universe, whatever they may be, exhibit some kind of symmetry that allows for this conservation. But you shouldn't confuse that with energy itself, which again is just simple scalar number.
