Personally, I hate black forest cake. This goes back to when I was a kid trying it for the first time. I expected to get a nice chocolatey cake with whipped cream, but there was some sour cherry bullshit in between the layers. Completely ruined the experience. Honestly the cherries do little to elevate the dish, which is perfectly good on it's own.

I like alcohol based cakes. Wine flavors go best with cake, but black forest is up there because of the kirsch. I also like pandan flavor, which is hard to find, as I like this with mildly herb-like flavors.
