Is it porcelain lined?

enameled or raw?

not OP but I also received a Dutch oven and am also looking for recipes and ideas. I've already braised some beef in it. It's enameled. Can I sear steaks in the bottom like a regular cast iron pan? How about eggy-weggies? Basically, do I just use this thing like a perma-seasoned cast iron pan with really high sides and a lid?

can make a cobbler of some sort, used to do it in the scouts all the time

Red beans and rice

holy shit that get why is this not a bigger deal

Nice numbers beotch

once someone on the Veeky Forums random board said that this lady did a porn

Beef stew.

Because/ck/ doesn't care about that as much as other boards

OP typically for Dutch ovens you get the benefits of cast iron and obviously a pot but mostly you have a pot that can withstand incredibly high heat. So super good sears and deglazes are possible and the heat retention make it beautiful for braising.

Look up bread making as well you are able to use your Dutch oven as a makeshift proofbox and alot of high end restaurants use that method so it's legit.

Bread.
>eating dat sweet sweet starch out camping when you actually need the calories
So good.

Honestly, if it's enameled, you can use it with everything you'd use a baking pan for, as well as everything you'd use a stove top pot for.

The only real limitations on cast iron is how fast you want to cook and the time dependence on cooling off your recipe.

For example, some recipes I've worked on with cast iron:
>cornbread
>New England spider cake
>soup (literally any soup)
>jambalaya
>scalloped potatoes
>sauerkraut hot dish
>egg bake
The list can keep going on, pretty much anything.

Dutch ovens were made for French onion soup.

Cheg um

Pineapple upside down cake

I've used mine like 3 times, one time for campfire cooking a meat stew, the other two times for frying at home. Not my favorite purchase.

Bake bread in it, you monstrous faggot.

I made corned beef and cabbage with carrots.
I cooked the corned beef in it but fried the cabbage and carrots in a pan. Part way through frying, I took the carrots and boiled them in the leftover corned beef juice after I took the meat out. Came out great.

Nice dubs, you humourless whiny little shit.
