What the fuck is skyline chili? Those are dollar store hotdogs with brown sugar on them. The back right plate. Is obviously not covered in chili. It's a power or something. Looks horrendous.

Why are people so autistic about chili? People have weird associations with all sorts of food but nothing comes close to chill purists. It’s not just Skyline either, you mention putting beans in chilli to some people and they lose their minds.

I tried making some of this after I saw someone post about it here before. It was pretty good, though apparently the chili should be more of a sauce than mine turned out. I think if I make it again I might need to cook it for longer.

Still looks better and nobody cares about file size on Veeky Forums. If you're posting them elsewhere it's pretty easy to find a decent compression tool. You may do this already with other food, but try an angle about 30-45 degrees off the table rather than so far above it.

My angles come from my instant noodle reviews. Usually make the bowl exactly fit instagram. And Im in bed so bear with me from my phone without compressing properly. I appreciate the recommendation though. This is why my wife doesnt let me take food photos.

I only used half a pound of pasta and more anchovies and less bread crumbs. Really easy and good change of pace for simple pastas.

Fair enough, it makes more sense when I see the collage put together. I might be too biased by things like food blogs and foodporndaily and sites like that. :)

Yeah. Their chili is a meat sauce with peppers and spices. Old pioneer food. You'd get dried powdered beef and chilis and spices in a food-brick -- sort of Old West pemmican-themed MRE's -- and rehydrate it when you wanted to eat something, with maybe some corn bread on the side.

Everybody else seems to go with the original Mesoamerican beans-plus-spices-plus meat thing. It's five hundred years of history in a bowl. But what the Texans do is damn good.
