Other Veeky Forums sites?

What alternatives to Veeky Forums do you guys use? Maybe somewhere that isn't as anonymous and that isn't primarily a dick measuring contest. A place where people are held accountable for their bullshit. I've not been able to find any very active communities that talk about Veeky Forums subjects. Input appreciated. Also books for this feel, etc.

I have more nood doods if you want.

Gonna keep posting these til I run out

Pornhub

...

I'm out.

More doods

I would love to find another site in the similar vein. I was excited when /fitlit/ became a thing and the best of both communities came together after April Fools. After its termination, I wanted to see a similar community come together, but I lacked the coding no-how to create such a thing.

Come on, man. You don't even have pic related. Plebeian.

Does Goodreads count?

It does, but it's shit. I don't recommend anyone browse goodreads, it's just not worth it.

Unless you're interest in shit like "Top 100 books with characters struggling with their sexual identity" (The Odyssey is number 4) or people spewing dumb shit about books they have no clue about.

is there exist an irc channel for discussing books? I'm struggling to find one, irc is GOAT for pirating book though

Join me on plebbit, we'll chat responsibly about literature.

Veeky Forums irc is dead, use discord

You could try the other chans out there.

Which subplebbits are not John Green tier?

I forgot to add this link of all the known chans out there. You could probably find what you're looking for here.

1chan.net/overchan/

No idea, I was just memeing. Looked up a bunch of subreddits and they were all dead.

>all the known chans
>not been updated since approximately 2008
lol.
How quaint.
Overchan has never had anything even remotely like a list of all of them.
Here's one from 2015 which is also hopelessly out of date.

irc will never die

This looks more like a niche social circle of Veeky Forums tripfags.

For philosophy Reddit is definitely superior. You have r/philosophy mainly for discussion of articles and r/askphilosophy where you can ask a question and actually receive a response from someone with competence in the field. Just look at their Peterson threads and compare them to ours: reddit.com/r/askphilosophy/comments/7185cl/were_derrida_and_focault_communists_if_not_why

I guess Veeky Forums is kinda better for literature because here people can voice their opinions without feeling the need conform to popular views. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much interest in literature around here.

/leftypol/ is pretty good. it's like Veeky Forums but people actually read and believe in something. you should try it.

Goodreads has always been overwhelmed with edgy communist freshman and sophomores who think they are actually challenging the status quo with their worldviews. Veeky Forums has its fair share of the same, but not quite as bad. I would not suggest it.

There are some good author-specific subreddits, though. Reddit's Gene Wolfe board is pretty darn good.

That's exactly what it is

its shitposting central with occasional lit posting, so basically exactly like Veeky Forums

the actual lit posting, when it does happen, is way better than the posting on Veeky Forums though

>Reddit's Gene Wolfe board is pretty darn good.
That activity...
>irc is GOAT for pirating book though

This is a fucking gold mine.

You know there's free image board and forum software out there. It's as easy as renting server space and installing any other program
