I've been listening to a lot of Chomsky lately and in terms of politics he, Zizek and Bifo Berardi are all really close despite some obvious differences. I can understand Chomsky dismissing the Lacanian parts of Zizek (but Zizek makes it work better than many if not most Lacanians), but in terms of politics they often say exactly the same thing.

I know I'm rambling, but now even Sam Harris talks about redistribution (or at least basic income) and it feels weird.

Chomsky's analyses are may more "highbrow" for lack of a better word, while The Ziz just kind of generalizes out from low-culture. They do tend to land in the same general areas though.
It honestly feels closer to a rap beef than anything, since it's pretty clearly just a pride thing for one or likely both of them

He mixes it up more than you might think. A large part of it is that people come to try and gotcha him or ask stupid questions. He is incredibly warm.

You get used to it. I leave him on in the background on 1.25x or 1.5x speed and have no trouble listening to him while doing something else. It's crazy how often I end up quoting him in conversations despite not studying him almost at all and never really pondering his ideas.
