Is that trilogy worth it?

I laughed

They didn't have Corn back then, it was actually referring to wheat.

It's a teen fantasy book for girls, what do you think?

Not really, it's pretty boring except for the last book.

>A working title for the novel was Hell's My Destination

Haha

ha. you should read all his work though.

all 3 panels could be replaced with gay porn

HA. funny. What I got out of it too. I remember I read it back when I was 17 or so and going through a lot of similar shit as the protagonist and got sent to a psyche ward after I beat up my father (kind of mixed with confederacy of dunces but whatever)

bro... its YA fiction...

Worst one I've seen yet

not at all. The books are full of awful prose, flat characters and nonsensical plots. Catching fire is ironically the worst book I've read in my life. These books only blew up because they are the only kids books to have edgy violence in them.

I am always at odds about John Irving, I like his descriptions of New Hampshire. But all of his books center around a boy coming of age at an all boy's school, wrestling en sex. He manages to center all of his books around that framework.

Should I bother with his bother books then? I have Owen Meany on my backlog.

I think you should, I enjoyed many of his books. They really aren't bad, he just manages to include these certain elements in most of his books.

I have good memories reading his books.

>when you forget to judge a book by its cover

was it good though? have it cued up in a box of books in my room

It's good. Probably the best of Franzen's work.

A friend gave me a book by some ameripleb, it's about the first christian jews, and one girl is taken for a slave in Rome, and they fed all the slaves with corn. I had to quit after that, which is in like the first five pages

Sorry it didn't come with a trigger warning, mong
