I would really like to read some Marx and was wondering if I should start with Kapital, Communist manifesto, or something else. I hear people talking about Marxism all the time and would like to have a better understanding of what exactly that means. If you think I shouldn't read Marx, feel free to suggest something else instead!

read communist manifesto, its short, readable and kind of fun

Lovely painting btw

Communist Manifesto -> Wage Labour and Capital & Critique of the Gotha Program -> The German Ideology -> Capital

keep in mind communist manifesto is basically an undergrad essay

This

Also this

just read The Road to Serfdom and you'll understand why it is that communism (and the control of the economy by the government in general) always fails.

Marx's drivel is nonsensical. Read critiques of marx.

also if you want a grasp of marxism why waste your time reading his shit. just read a concise overview.

Read this, it outlines and critiques his major points.

This.

Communism is literally, unironically pleb-tier.

Start with On the Jewish Question. It's the clearest statement of his fundamental beliefs, which later led to his Communist views.

Don't listen to the others. Read Capital first, it's really not that hard. It builds up and the reader doesn't have to be well read to follow, though that helps of course. Almost anything by some other author will paint a biased picture, just get it from the old bastard himself.

There are a million ways to go after that, but one unusually good text to read after Capital is "Marx at the Millenium" by Cyril Smith. The Critique of the Gotha Programme is also very good.

Lol shit tier understanding of communism, bootlicker

leftypol is that way, friendo->

First you should read Main Currents of Marxism, then you should follow lit's guide to marxism: docs.google.com/document/d/1g6XaOX8RldHRg_JradONkS99oE6uC5dc9EuyOa5rips/edit

Read Capital 1 for his critique of capitalism.
Read critque of the Gotha Programme for his socialist theory.

To be frank I'd say just grow some balls accept Capital won't be easy and skip the pamphlets. The Oxford abridgement is good.

>Communist calling someone else a bootlicker
What did he mean by this?

leave

t.

>Anyone who isn't a communist is alt-right
Seriously though, what did he mean by this?

Right but here's the problem with that meme -- you're not the Wolf of Wall Street. You're probably just a low level office worker or even just a student.

The capitalist mode of production most likely hasn't done jack shit for you but you like it because Porky told you.

>HURRR IF HE USED USE A WOLF OF WALL STREET MEME THAT MUST MEAN HE THINKS HE'S THE WOLF OF WALL STREET DURRRR
So this is the power of /leftypol/. Keep making shitty memes user, one day you'll get it.
