Can we turn this into a translation rec general? I've read the penguin edition of Hamsun's Hunger before and I know penguin has questionable translations, but I've heard that there is no proper "definitive" English translation - some issue with the translation of unstable pronouns through the narration. I figure, since I'll never learn Norwegian, that I might as well read the other translations. Which should I try next?

Just read it in Japanese. The language is not that hard to learn. Just watch some kick-ass anime and you'll learn it in about a month. French is more difficult to learn.
