What is the best font for reading?

comic sans

wingdings

Patrician choice.

For me it’s sans-serif Liberation (free equivalent of Arial, I guess).

>sans-serif
Eww.

...

Absolute madman.

Gentium Book Basic

>Finnegans Wake in wingdings

bookerly is pretty dank desu senpai

Garamond, of course.

Times New Roman is the easiest even check online. Nothing beats the classics

Boring choice, tbqh.

Georgia

Calibri is designed to not strain the eyes or brain, I think times new Roman is one of the more common ones.

Alte Schwabacher is the obvious patrician choice.

Audible chuckle

Whoever designed Calibri must have fucked up royally, then. Sans-serif fonts are horrible for anything more than like 2 pages long.

Barbaric scribble scrabble.

Whatever font its printed in derrr

Au contraire, my plebby friend.

Helvetica obviously. And its the best font for writing as well

this was a pretty cool post but I agree with I also have a Wallace Stevens edition printed in "Elytra" or "Electra," not sure which, but that was wonderful.

Sweetie, please. Univers is the far superior Swiss typeface.

Times New Roman was designed in the 1930s; Garamond, when Henry VIII was on the throne of England - the real classic.

Do you have dl link?

Times New Gothic Bold is the superior font for the true gent of discernment.

search ‘open source garamond’

Baskerville obviously.

Goddammit, stay in /b you miserable faggot.

Sabon

braille

the comic sans meme is a dead horse, but this still made winneigh.

i like the Kindle's font "Bookerly" so much so that I imported it onto my Kobo.

My preference is Cambria.

I'm quite fond of it myself and might do the same, though last time I gushed about it it got shit on. I admittedly am not a font expert.

Sans-serif don't work on physical books at all, only electronic texts and some magazines.

if you weren't type brainlets you would know that those typefaces, and sans-serif fonts in general, are not designed for body-text and are in fact terrible for such (especially on e-readers/tablets)

Ember cause fell for the Kindle meme

Univers can work well for body text when used well. Lots of late 70s and early 80s material proves this - most of it military, funnily enough. Obviously talking manuals, booklets and not novels.
